I, for one, just sold my Tamron & Tokina fast zooms and bought a used Canon 5D.

Next steps are selling all but my FA Limiteds and A 50/1.2, adding 24-70L 2.8

I know what I'm going to do.... I'm going to take more pictures. The k-7 is probably far more camera than I am capable of exceeding, far more than I ever thought I'd get to use. The K-5 seems to be an even better camera. The only reason I'm thinking about upgrading is because of CBA (mostly) and because of the mooted AF improvement for my sports shooting.

No full frame? No problem for me.

I sold my sigma 24-60mm when I realized that even if FF were released I wouldn't have the lens lineup to support it (that zoom and a couple of primes isn't going to cut it).

I have to ask, is that really the full list of 'FF or Bust' members? Realizing the extent of your lobbying ability, how realistic is FF, ever? 18 out of 27000+ members (who themselves represent only a small portion of Pentax camera owners) is not going to make Pentax see the FF light, especially with the 645D kicking around.

I use Canon,Nikon,Leica and Pentax cameras. the bottom line is they are all good, but each is designed for a purpose...you don't use a Leica M9 for macro work.

This is only the list of those who stood up to speak. By the way amount of people who were willing to change / add another system amounted to about 30% of votes, 55% being those who were about to stay.

And yet I tend to agree that all our whining will in no way affect HOYA business development decisitons. Hence I`m selling my gear to fund the switch.

I thought it was an automatic art maker? (I guess more likely the proficiency of the owners!)

A curious question, how much will your photography improve by getting a FF camera?

Just think - because of Digi's selfishness of using the M9 to take photos, some unfortunate, mid-life-crisis'd dentist missed out on an arcane status symbol with which to vainly try to use to compensate for his burgeoning paunch and retreating hairline!

Probably had to go buy a sports car or something! Get hair implants! A fake tan and a Rolex!

This thread could be really interesting IF, and only IF you made it into an poll/vote thread.

Make a thread that says: "Will you leave or stay with Pentax, now that theres no FF"

It would be interesting to see the results.

I have sold my K20d and was planning on buying either the K-5 or a D7000, but was also contemplating a Nikon FF move. Of course, if there was a Pentax FF body, it would have been a no brainer. With the D800 news that just came out in the past few days (possible release Feb. or Mar. of 2011) it seems I will wait for that. Nikon rumors reports today that the French publisher of the book about the Nikon D800 will be released in March of 2011, so the camera would have to be out around that time.

K-5 - way too expensive and I do not wish to wait for price to drop
D7000 - was only going to be a temp thing until I went FF
D700 - not worth it now that D800 is on the horizon which will have video and 24MP
D800 - my most likely option now, however I am DSLR-less until it's out

I may opt to buy a D7000, or D3100 if they are not backordered in the next month, and then just sell it when the D800 comes out. This way I can pick up some FF Nikon glass and be ready for the D800.

I sold alllll my Pentax gear a few months ago so that I'd only have to deal with one DSLR (shooting a lot of film these days), so I have a 5D Mk2. Then, as I was thinking, maybe I'll just get one standard zoom lens that is weather sealed so that I can take the cam into the field (I'm an archaelogist), and realized it wouldn't cost much more for me to get a K-5 and the 18-135mm WR combined than to get an L-zoom lens.

so I just might do that  we'll see. Just one experience from someone who recently "jumped ship" :-)

good point, and I'll embellish it by stating that if most people find the K5 expensive a FF pentax would in all probability be even more expensive so people who are whinging and whining about not having a FF camera to"upgrade" to should just go somewhere else. Nikon is ergonomically as close to pentax as it gets(and some things they do are better)

yes, I use my leica M9 for work the M9 is a terrible studio camera, but in available darkness it is extremely good especially with a noctilux 50mm f/1.0 - though with the resolution from the M9's sensor being as high as it is it looks like I may have to "upgrade" to the noctilux 50mm f/0.95 ASPH.

It would be nice to have the larger viewfinder that goes along with a 135 format (which I presume is what you mean by FF) camera, but other than that, I'm not seeing any pressing reason to covet one.
