My initial experience with the K5

So, I went to my local pusher today to preview the 645D (gorgeously awesome camera) and while I was visiting with the rep, the store manager put a K5 box in front of me.
Wonderful. I paid for it and went back to chatting with a couple of friends who had also come to look at the 645.
My K7 was sitting beside my bagged K5 on the counter.

During my absence from the vicinity, someone came in and bought a bunch of Canon stuff, picking my bagged K5 up with the rest of her Canon crap.
So, apparently, I am a proud K5 owner......

Hopefully we'll get it sorted out soon and I'll get my camera in the next day or so.

I'd be checking ebay for a NIB K-5 :-)

Hopefully the store will have a means of identifying the other party, or they just bring it back.

See, you should live in the good old USA. This sort of stuff doesn't happen down here.

J/K, sorry to hear that this happened. Hope it works out OK for you.

Just got a call from the store. My camera is either there or on it's way back. The lady was extremely embarrassed.
Happy ending, and the 645 is still awesome.

Just for curiosity purposes ... check in the camera: maybe she took some shots with your K5??

Good outcome Wheatfield. She didn't even try the K-5?

The 645D is a real beauty, and from the field test videos it's pretty special and looks so easy to handhold to take out into the wild. The ISO 1600 limit was the only aspect going against it, but for it's intended applications it's pretty capable.

Damn, what a horrible experience. I'd definitely be switching systems after that initial experience.
