The hawks out out already

QuoteQuote:
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, speaking at the Halifax International Security Forum in Canada, told reporters that there will come a point where Iran's nuclear program will reach the state that a conventional limited air strike "won't take them out."

"We're probably even past that point," he said.

"Instead of a surgical strike on their nuclear infrastructure, I think we're to the point now that you have to really neuter the regime's ability to wage war against us and our allies. And that's a different military scenario. It's not a ground invasion but it certainly destroys the ability of the regime to strike back."...............The senator said that if the United States did attack Iran's navy and air force, Iran could retaliate with unconventional attacks on U.S. forces in Afghanistan and launch terrorist attacks in other parts of the world.

"You can expect that," he said. "You can expect, for a period of time, all hell to break loose. You must have to almost plan for that. And weigh that against the idea of a nuclear-armed Iran and what that means to the future of the world."

Damnit. I thought this post described someplace to shoot raptors in the wild, not stupid politicians. .

If by "they" you mean politicians; no, they are not like cats, or newts. More like a cross between a skunk and a leech.

Yes, let's cut the part of government that provides social services and give it to the part of government that wages war...

You know, I'm just not missing the Cold War that much, but wasn't the only reason we still have all these nukes of our own supposed to involve nuking nukes to prevent nukes from nuking?

Or is this just the not-awaited sequel: "Night Of The Potential WMDs II: Bulls In The Pottery Barn, Again. Darnit. "

*cheesy scary voice effect... voice whispers.... "Fool me twice...."

The Republicans love to shoot their mouths off. This guy must have just invested in oil futures. Threaten to start a war again, drive the price up and then blame the Dems for wrecking any chance of economic recovery.

Well, it would certainly solve two problems. We could then send the poor people off to die in an overseas war that they didn't start, thereby ridding us of the poverty problem while at the same time providing cannon fodder for the war machine.

I believe I mentioned in another thread that the world seems to be a less peaceful place when you guys elect republican presidents.
Now I know why.
They start wars so as to line their pockets.

War doesn't 'fix poverty problems' particularly in the costs of social services. People come back wounded, maimed, and traumatized.

In that same thread, that theory was debunked. More have died during Democrat administrations than during Republican.

I suspect you are choosing your statistics very carefully here.
For example, during WWII, both Presidents were Democrats.
Obfuscation is, perhaps, not the best way.

Well, I just don't know what to say.
It appears that it doesn't matter which party is in power, you people just like to beat the crap out of everyone.
Sorry Jim, you won the battle, lost the war on this one.
