I don't want us to block them. That is just tit for tat. However, maybe together we could flood their forums with questions as to why we are blocked for, say, a week?

Adam are you going to keep a heroes list here of those that fell on the sword over at DPreview for PentaxForums? Maybe give them a special medal.

Heck... getting banned at DPReview is almost a badge of honor in and of itself. LOL

I have just deleted all my entries into the photo challenges on DPreview including a 1st place and several top-10 placing photos. Why? Because I fully expect to get banned when I ask them to unblock PF and I refuse to leave my content on their service if they ban me.

Mike

Agreed. Adam, you guys are doing such a fantastic job on this site. I respect your decision and hope that dpreview can come to their senses.

BTW, this forum was a major factor in my decision to switch to Pentax. The community and knowledge base developed here is staggering!

I put a question up in the Pentax area. Wonder how long that will last!

Sounds like it's personal on their part, and not a rational business decision.

Big surprise... I hope eveyone notices that threads on this topic have remained open here, dispite the rather severe critiscism that Adam and the rest of the staff has been under. It's true that certain individual posts have been deleted but in all cases those posts have crossed the line between logical complaints and personal viscious attacks which would not be tolerated when directed at ANY member.

personally i welcome this change. It is good idea to block links to dpr. I am surprised why this was not done before.

DPR Thread re-opened

DPR re-opened the original thread on their Pentax SLR Forum, but it censored the post I attempted. Despite being run by Brits, I suspect it objected to at least one of the Anglo-Saxon words I used!

The reaction of forum members there to the rapid closing of the thread was perhaps more negative than DPR had expected. They blinked a teensy bit!

Good to hear... I'll have to check it out... No answer on my PM asking for PF to be unblocked, but I've not been banned yet either.
