Is Chinese Internet Censorship a Trade Barrier?

This was an interesting read, and a new take on the issue of censorship.

Google feels that non-chinese companies are being unfairly held to a higher standard when it comes to complying with the laws governing restriction of information flow in China and other countries and wants to escalate the issue to the WTO and seek other governmental remedies available to traditional industries facing unfair trade barriers.

Google: 'Net censorship amounts to undeclared trade war

What do you think, should the government be going to bat for google so they can get a bigger share of the chinese search pie or should they be allowed to enjoy their "Double Irish Dutch Sandwich" and leave the US government out of their foreign operations like they leave the US government out of their foreign profits?

seems the "gov" going to bat for "free enterprise" is anathema to where we are supposed to be heading...... "stay out of my life" "keep free enterprise free" they say.......
Actually this is kind of the hypocrisy in all our politics....
We want to be "free" to do as we please but want the world to do it "our way".......
