This is your lucky day; I used to work there! Mind you it was almost 30 years ago; but it seems like just yesterday.
From the desert-like sand dunes to the tall pine forests and vast beaches it is truly a beautiful and unique area in Ontario. At the right time of the year you can find bird species that normally habitat the western provinces or south eastern United States. When I worked there we saw dozens of deer daily just wandering across the roads. Beware, however, that poison ivy grows almost everywhere in the forested areas. I would suggest putting on a good layer of 'barrier cream' before venturing on any of the trails. This time of year it is usually very quiet as the summer crowds have thinned out significantly.
That is just a bit of general info. Check in at the interpretive center to get more specific details. It is definitely worth the trip! I hope this helps.
