I bought a used giant prodigy a few years ago (cheap on ebay) and have used it to tour state and national parks. I carry a 50mm 1.7, af 1.7 tc, k10d, gorillapod and f* 300mm in a lowepro slingback bag when riding. the gorillapod can be wrapped on the bike rack, seat or handlebars for tripod use. works great! got this eagle shot (cropped) in oscar scherer park, fl last month with this setup:

thanks for the comment. went to the bird site and every bird i have photographed is represented. don't really have any new or unknown birds to add. liked the site as it has birds i've never seen before (which is a lot). thanks for the link
