Wife Started Menopause--Easiest Way to Kill Myself?

I'm open to suggestions, because this is efffin ridiculous.

If I kill her, I go to jail. But if I kill myself, everyone will be happy.

Start building plastic models? At least it'll keep you out of the room...

Oh.......as someone who is in the beginning stages of it I am sorry Ira for you and for her. I can tell you it is real and not made up.
If it is any help or consolation to you at all, please know that and I can tell you that your wife does not want to be this way or act like this anymore than you want her to....She cannot help it and she feels bad with what she is putting you and everybody else through. And she hates it as well.
I know what she is going through and I can tell you that it is really frustrating to feel like you are going crazy a lot of the time....it is how I feel many days.

I am so glad I am single right now as I would not want to put this on anybody. There are ways to deal with this medically if she is having difficulty with it but the only thing you can do is just be as supportive and as gentle on her as you can be and understand that it is not her, it is hormones (they are surging and depleting right now instead of coming in one steady stream) that are physically and mentally affecting her right now.

I'd like to thank casil for the very appropriate, kind and helpful post. It is relevant not only to this thread but to many others who are part of a family where a member is going through this difficult time.
I'd like to add that the difficulties will end and the relationship will become better. I know ours did. I'm 56 and my wife is 58.

Just tell her: "Yes, those jeans DO make you look fat!" the next time she asks... she'll suicide you

But seriously, there isn't much you can do about it. Hormonal imbalance is a roller coaster ride. May I suggest lots of nodding and smiling?

I'm with Pat on this one.
Lots of support and stay out of the way when it gets tense.

That may or may not work. About 6-7 years ago my wife was trying on jeans and asked me the "do these jeans make me look fat question". In my attempt at humor, I answered her, "No, the jeans don't make you look fat... it's the fat that makes you look fat".

The fact that I'm still alive (and married) suggest that you might not get want you want (death) by answering "yes".

Everyone wants you dead?

Anyways, find a hobby that allows you to leave the house.
Duh! wait a minute...

I think the answer is pretty obvious don't you?
I also do woodworking in my shop, which has proved to a great secondary hobby to photography.

And then of course there is always prayer

Nah, we'd miss you (a little).

Never thought I'd ever see the combination of "IRA" and "seeking advice for how to kill"...

Thanks for the supportive words, everyone.

I saw an All In The Family episode about this years ago, but never thought it would happen to me.
