"Danger, danger Will Robinson"

Even reading it makes absolutely no sense...
QuoteQuote:
The GOP study committee would reduce Pell Grants and eliminate entire programs, all of which have advocates in Congress and elsewhere. They include the national endowments for the arts and the humanities; the Legal Services Corporation, which provides legal help to people who can't afford a lawyer; Amtrak subsidies; and community development grants popular with local officials.

The White House says the plan would force the firing of about 3,000 food inspectors, 4,000 FBI agents, 800 Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agents, 1,500 drug enforcement agents, 900 U.S. marshals and 5,700 correctional officers.

National unemployment, at 9.4 percent, is a chief worry for both parties. Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who chairs the Republican Study Committee, suggested that cutting the government will boost overall employment, even when it involves big federal layoffs.

"We actually think, if you reduce federal government spending, you help create jobs, you help foster a framework and an environment where the real job-creators can do what they do, create jobs and improve our economy,"
Seems they believe in the job fairy.......

How would this be different from the administration coming out and saying that they saved thousands of jobs without any actual proof of it? Everything that comes out of Washington is smoke and mirrors and it doesn't represent reality for most people.

Do the Republicans really think that being poor is a crime?

Nah, they just want more of them.

Will those mysterious job creators please step forward with your offer?

Cause, claiming 'There's no absolute proof this is what helped' is different from 'Let's actively destroy stuff?'

We should end prohibition of drugs and release people from prison on petty drug charges. That would force the firing of every DEA agent and lots of correctional officers.

Some bad policies have resulted in lots of federal hiring, it doesn't mean that we should continue them into perpetuity so those people keep their jobs.

Seriously, the Republican party is now attempting to honor seemingly long-forgotten campaign promises to git rid of them revenooers, made repeatedly in the days of Prohibition
