Time for another bailout

I think it's time we bailed out the airlines. I mean look at how much money they're losing with all the cancellations because of the weather.

Come on they're suffering

QuoteQuote:
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Winter weather this week caused thousands of flight cancellations and rolled back airlines' profit by an estimated $100 million to $145 million, according to data from AirlineForecasts LLC on Friday. Delta Air Lines /quotes/comstock/13*!dal/quotes/nls/dal (DAL 11.87, +0.04, +0.34%) alone saw about 1,800 cancellations, which could reduce its first-quarter profit by $35 million to $45 million, assuming between 7% to 10% of passengers and freight shippers actually canceled, the research firm said. Over the first three days of the week, airlines canceled about 9,000 flights, including more than 6,000 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
They need our help!

nice lampooning but one that avoids the key aspects of why the US govt felt in its best interest to come to the aid of the car industry and the banks. The situation was very different than an industry making less than analyst expectations...

Sorry, you're talking to a cold hearted, calculating liberal here Pan Am and TWA had nice logos but in no way did their demise threaten national security or the global economy. It did make one aspect of 2001: A Space Odyssey very unlikely however.

Sure, we will just take the wings off weld some train wheels onto the fuselage and they can fly the friendly high speed rails

No pat downs either...

Until the first terrorist attacks a train in the US.

It might even be redundant.

There is so much in that sentence that shows a fundamental misunderstanding of another political philosophy (or simplistic prejudice), that it is futile to even begin.
