Some old saying comes to mind. "You can always add layers, but you can take off only so much".

I remember last winter, when someone from Minnesota wrote on some forum that they were going to tie a snow-blower to the roof of their car and drive south until pedestrians started pointing at them and asking what it was. Sounds like a plan to me.
