Well at least he knew there were 3

[YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZpP3U2NRN8[/YT]

Now, I’m sure the Senator knows that the three branches of the federal government are the Congress (made up of the House and the Senate), the Executive and the Judicial branch. I’m sure this was just the sort of verbal flub anyone could make on-air.
But imagine if Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin or even, say, Paul Ryan had done it. The left would be all over it. But somehow, I don’t expect the Huffington Post to be running any snarky exposes on this particular verbal gaffe.

So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strong they feel — you know, we have three branches of government: we have a House, the Senate, we have a President, and all three of us are going to have to come together and give some. But it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling.

3 official ones anyway.
Maybe the others confused him.

Bastardizing Einstein, are we now John? I like accuracy of the original much better.

Possibly the most irrelevantly mistaken choice of words ever to be blown out of proportion by Fox news. What he is saying (correctly) is that three bodies must approve any new law. Here is a fun question: How many times does the constitution specifically mention "branches" of the federal government? Full Text of the Constitution of the United States | Freedom Documents

You forget that corporate greed IS an entitlement.
One we ALL pay for.

Ps. you're the only one trying to make a BIG deal of this gaff.

Not at all. They can waste their own money on anything they want. Just don't waste mine.

Right. Since it's a liberal do you really think the media will make anything of it? If it was McCain or any other Republican the media would have a field day with it.

Guess you missed this point:

I guess it was you who missed the point.
I wouldn't have to imagine those folks saying sillyness.
They do it all the time.

McCain? his daughter makes more sense than he does, now-a-days.

How do you feel about corporate entitlements?

I don't think this would even count as sillyness from their mouths. Most of the things they say that trigger derision are things they meant to say.
