Plastic wars

Republicans recycle an old idea: the foam plastic coffee cup | World news | The Guardian

QuoteQuote:
A bit like the Republican party, they are white, seemingly indestructible and bad for the environment. But after an absence of four years, foam plastic coffee cups have made a comeback in the basement coffee shop of the United States Congress building after Republicans began reversing a series of in-house green initiatives undertaken by Democrats.

The about-turn was announced by a press aide to John Boehner, the speaker of the House of Representatives, who tweeted on Monday morning: "The new majority – plasticware is back".

i don't want to frighten you
but they mean to kill us all.

Seriously, dudes, if you're a Senator in Congress and with all your staff you can't find a better mug to bring, anyway, you *deserve* to drink out of Styrofoam.

This is just the latest version of truck-testicles on defending overpowered SUV's and no CAFE standards...(funny, ennit?) just before the last gas shortage when no one could drive to work, GMAC goes under, dealerships tank, and they blame the 'libruls' for being too eco...

So what do they do.. Try it all again.... Plastic testicles and all...

Come on Republicans, you're in Congress. Hit the freakin gift shop if you somehow don't like paper.

Boehner happens to play to a certain apocalyptic conspiracy who consider not despoiling the Earth (even through something as symbolic as not drinking out of....Styrofoam?) to be some kind of surrender of their Dominionism, actually. Why the Hel else would he *do this,* then *issue a press release?*

May be just pissing on poles, but it's marking territory. Like when Reagan took down the solar panels.

What!!!?????

They would have to hire a dishwasher.
You don't expect them to wash their own cups, now do you?
Such work might mess up Beohners tan.

Well, in Texas, at least, there you are.. Illegal immigrants are a plague on this country... Except if they're household servants... Then it's OK...

I tried to stay away but........
OK excuse my ignorance of the subject but I drink my daily capucino from a Qt. Mason jar so could you please explain a few of the finer points to me?
Is there a difference between styrefoam and plastic foam ?
Which is more or less eco friendly and why?
What the heck were they serving coffee in during the interim?
How bout the plasticized cardboard cups like at the zippy mart?
