Will Biden Stay on the 2012 Ticket?

Everyone is talking about the potential republican candidates, but what about Biden. He has proven to be just as hapless as everyone thought he would be, do you think Obama should send him back to Wilmington in the hopes of grooming someone for 2016?

I think he should keep him. Every organization needs one class clown just to lighten the mood.

(Every class I was ever in had one. )

Of course - Biden serves the same role to Obama as Quayle served to Bush the Elder, and Gore served to Clinton: Impeachment Insurance.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread was "Court Jester". Does he juggle?

I don't think Joe knows that the Secret Service has orders that if anything ever happens to Obama, they are to shoot him.

I think it would be unlikely. But...if a new VP candidate was chosen, who would it be?

Palin seems pretty popular. Maybe he could use that to his advantage.

Not so much anymore. Did you by any chance see the snarky commet she made about Gov. (still) Christie? Looks like she is beginning to break Reagan's rule of a repub never criticizing another repub....or something to that effect.

LOL, Here's the list of Palin feuds;
The Sarah Palin Feud Watch - Tina Dupuy - Politics - The Atlantic

QuoteQuote:
To quantify this point, I've assembled a list of her media feuds since she was tapped to be veep. Call it a supplemental: A hyperlink to her hyper-sensitivity.

The list is made up of people and groups she has personally, by name, gone after in the press. Left out are people who criticize her and she ignores, like Meghan McCain. Those are rare. Also excluded are people who've only been harassed on her behalf, but not actually by her, like California State Senator Leland Yee. Plus, no dead people who can't defend themselves. Sorry, Shakespeare. What's left are people who have participated in a back and forth with Sarah Palin.

Some have observed the flames died down in the wake of Gabriele Gifford's attempted assassination; the national tragedy Palin strangely made about herself.

According to the (crowd sourced and obviously unscientific) list, even with a slow January her overall numbers are steady.

When I first compiled this list last November, Palin had been on the national scene for less than 30 months. There were over 60 entries. Palin's average? Two new tiffs a month. Every month.

In the last 90 days, by my count, she has waged seven new feuds (Julian Assange, Aaron Sorkin, Charles Krauthammer, Rick Santorum, TIME Magazine, Westboro Baptist Church and Michael Moore). That's still a solid two brawls each month, not counting any repeats, as with the president of the United States and his wife.

So, yes, for being a mavericky rogue, she's actually stalwartly consistent. Which is just what we look for in a president.

The difference with Biden is he's *more* competent and of better will than he appears in the media. I just don't think there's any reason to change the ticket, not just cause Republicans insist he's somehow comparable to some of their joke-candidates.

If there's a change it'll be to get Hillary out there on the campaign trail.

I remember similar stirrings mid way through just about every president's first term -- remember when Cheney was rumored to be replaced next time around... about middle of W's first term?

The suggestion was made for Hillary. It might also keep her off the primary ticket.
