Cheap twin lens reflex camera kit

I might just have to order one of those!

$20.30 - Twin Lens Reflex 35mm TLR Camera DIY Assembly Kit - Photo & Camera

I am sure the quality is probably awful, but what a cool way to teach kids about film photography!

I just ordered one... I just had to!

Heck I've spent more on popcorn and soft drinks at the movie theatre last week! At least this is somewhat educational and as you said it may have a Holga feel to it (in a 35mm version).

I can't wait to assemble it and run some Tri-X thru it!

Heheh. Fun. I'd be tempted to take some model paints to that.

Cool!

Painting it with model paint is probably a great idea!

I performed a quick search for "Recesky" on Flickr and I have to admit that the results of this camera are very interesting!

I look forward to attempting "antique" looking pics with B/W film. Ahhh the pleasures of toy cameras!

The samples remind me of the pictures I get from my AGFA box camera with its meniscus lens, though with less detail (not surprising seeing as the box camera is a 6x9).

You'll have to check if the back focus distance on the lenses is long enough to use them on your DSLR.

Well, I received it this afternoon and assembled it... going to run a roll of Tri-X thru it in the coming days to see how it performs...

By the sloppy construction and very crappy plastic lens I am guessing the "holga effect" should be quite extreme

I'm impressed that you know chinese;-)

I just got mine today and haven't even popped the plastic. Any tips or gotcha's on the buildup? How long did it take you?

English instructions:

Gakkenflex English Instruction Manual (Otona no Kagaku Magazine Volume 25) Blinded By Light

Just be careful as there are a few tiny differences between the english instructions and the camera we got (one knob has been moved). Otherwise, the remaining 99% is the same.

I haven't had time to play with mine yet... spring cleaning has been eating up all my time!
