Arab League backs Libya no-fly zone

Ok fine BUT why is it us that apparently would supply the planes???? none in Saudi Arabia???
These things always get me.........

Come on. I hope that they do participate, but it's a monumental step to get this decision from the Arab League. It must have been a tough call... after all, they might be the next dictatorship struggling to retain power...

I wonder the same thing. Saudi Arabia spends more money on military than the US, and they have more than enough man (or plane) power to enforce the arab league's no fly zone. one would think they would be the best nation for the job to protect the people of libya. but im rather ignorant of it all other than what I watch on AlJazeera, so some more information on the subject would be nice.

Are any of the ARAB League nations democracies? I think they are more concerned this is going to spread to their own countries and are only giving lip service to the court of world opinion. Gadaffi is one of their own.

I suppose mideast counties either 1)don't want to rile their own people by actually taking active participation 2)take responsibility for any cluster-thing that happens in the process......
