How to break the yahoo e-mail password? ANY HACKERS :)

I have almost zero knowledge of IT stuff. A friend of mine had forgotten her yahoo email password after changing it recently. She doesn't have the answers to any of the secret questions to retrieve it.

However, we know the possible combinations and at the most it will be 2,200 combinations (most likely less).

How do we go about trying to get in again?

Yahoo locks the account after a few tries - any way to by-pass this If we can by-pass this, we can eventually go through the 2200 combinations and all the captions..lots and lots of work, but at least doable)...any device/program that will help us (I doubt this is possible).

Thank you for any and all help.

P.S: I am not trying to break into my wife's/girlfriends e-mail , having read the web on how to retrieve passwods, that's usually the reason. My friend really did forget her PW, but atleast knows the possible combinations to within ~2,200.

I would contact yahoo- the lockout will prevent you from tyring all the combinations. Or, just try guessing those which seem the most probable!

For the security of Yahoo email users I hope there's no easy hack as you suggest.

My wife forgot the password to the Yahoo account she hadn't used in years.
I called my ISP's tech support; they contacted Yahoo.
It took several days to get her password reset.

I got locked out of my flickr (yahoo account), I only have a handful of passwords I use for non critical sites, none worked. Yahoo couldn't help me, can't remember the specifics as it was a fair while ago but after several emails I was unsuccessful in getting it reset.

Yeah! I don't think Yahoo can help as they don't know her identity, where as a long term ISP provider can confirm her identity and hopfully through her use of the account at her home prove to yahoo it is indeed her and try to help her that way....

Acontece

Pessoal,
