"Oh, the humanity!" Nah, it's OK, we'll just put some incomprehensible boilerplate fine print on the register, while advertising how friendly and courteous our service is... 'We're looking out for you,' ... and then it's *totally* a matter of caveat emptor, just like those mortgages, financial advices, party platforms, 'Prosperity Gospels' and equity loans they sold. They'll understand. Really.
Why, I do believe they themselves limited liability to class action lawsuits to a mere slap on the wrist... Well, if a corporation is involved: private citizens can still be buried just in legal fees... But they wouldn't do that, right, they 'self-regulate, and they *must* see this is consistent with their 'values,' eh?
(Understand, btw: I'm not just ranting when I say the same mentality that brings us both this kind of treatment and financial abuse due to the political clout of the same people is *also* reflected in how the same people want to roll back womens' rights in criminal law, even if not especially regarding *rape* in the name of 'Pro-Life?' In this one-party state called Georgia, they are *actually* trying to make what this man did *legal.* Or at least 'protected' ...if the victim doesn't have more money, at least. The actual laws are there or in progress. Complete with a 'resolution' that if the government doesn't want to honor Federal civil rights laws, they 'reserve the right' (which they don't actually have) to ignore them. )
Just a resolution, but it *passed.* Targeted primarily against gay people, nothing in it says it can't or isn't being applied against women in general, particularly rape victims, Hispanics, or black people... As was recently found out when a black woman was beaten in front of her daughter in the entry of a Cracker Barrel by a man hurling racist and sexist epithets.... and the lack of hate crimes laws treated it the same as a 'barfight.'
