I'm Shocked

A member of the government gets caught lying about inappropriate pictures being sent to women and all we hear are crickets in the forum? wait could it simply be because its a Democrat that I can hear those crickets? Are we soo jaded that it no longer phases us is that the reason I hear those crickets? Would I be able to hear the crickets if it were a Republican? I doubt it but hang on those crickets are really loud right now.
(sarcasm by the way people if you couldn't figure it out)

The man's a creep, but it's not exciting news IMHO. Every other day you read about something like this lately, and besides we all know what's keeping America riveted right now. It's the Casey Anthony trial. Everyone is watching every word of it hoping the woman be convicted and will fry.

The woman she never had ANY chance of a fair trial, ever, not with the media on the case 24/7 since her arrest. I don't care if they did move the trial, get the jurors from somewhere else. She's convicted and tried already in the court of public opinion and there is just no way any of those jurors didn't step into that box not knowing anything or likely not having an opinion. Not after 3 years of constant press.

dingdingdingding! We have a winner!

No one gives a rat's ass. No one thinks that powerful people are immune to temptation. Most of all, no one thinks that a tendency toward sexual misconduct breaks down along party lines.

At least, no one with a reasonable amount of experience and intelligence.

But jaded is right. These scandals are a dime a dozen. And if, in the past, before we were so jaded, before the internet and social media really took hold and made these stories bigger than they needed to be...before all of this, if it seemed the outcry was perhaps a little bit louder when this happened to an R than when it happened to a D, there is one very very obvious reason. I doubt I even need to say it, sooo......

Thanks for playing, chief.

I think you'll find that people (particularly liberals) like to make a fuss when conservatives get caught in sex scandals because those same conservatives make being a "family man"/social conservatism such a bedrock of their public profile.

Blatant hypocrisy is more fun to criticize....

IF Weiner was big on family values and Bible Christianity it would be much more exciting............

We have a conservative Republican
State Senator that is so much into "family values" that a big chunk of his investment portfolio is stock in strip clubs....

See now THAT is funny...............It's OK to profit off heathens...

Actually I had a friend who was for awhile in "The WAY" (wonder if they still exist, pretty much a New born Christian cult as I remember it) and their big
sthick was of course collecting donation. There philosophy was might as take their money, they are all going to hell anyways...

See even funnier............

It isn't even shocking anymore, so it's no fun to mention it. It's almost as if it's a right of passage in DC. Could they be putting enzyte in the water supply?

They're quite busy right now from what I understand Shooz,
Have Tina Fey on-board now, need to iron out a few wrinkles,
or maybe ironed in,so she looks 'just so'

Wilbur Mills made this kind of stuff fun, what the hell has happened?
And how come no-one ever shot even 1 pic of Wilbur and 'fanny' doing
laps around the reflecting pool of the mall in DC.

Nope, kind of scary.Dont relish the thought of seeing
Wilbur and 'fanny' in that state of disaray. Then I think back upon
those times and recall our republican president saying "I am not a crook"
you know what Shooz,Wilbur and 'fanny' dont seem so bad after all.

Well, a lot of people are making fun of the irony of his name and what he showed off in the photos, but in the end, unless he used government computers to send the photos, there was no crime. It's not illegal to send nude photos on the internet and the only people who really have a stake in this are his family.

As for the crickets.... I think the fact that the guy is not an anti-sex crusader who got caught with his pants down (aka Larry Craig or Ted Haggard) makes this much less of a story...

Mike

Exactly. When liberals start worrying about whom others marry or what they do with their bodies, claiming that they a protecting morality handed down by God, then they will deservedly receive the same scrutiny.

The question is do liberals really have morals? Republicans when they screw up step down. Liberals just stay around and get re-elected year after year ala Rangel. Thought Nancy was going to "clean the swamp"? Guess that didn't include people of her own ilk.
Heck this guy was showing the Weiner in all it's glory to women who didn't ask for it. Chris Lee steps down for a shirtless photo. No Weiner involved at all. Guess the libs really owe Lee an apology. Too bad the Weiner didn't let the FBI investigate the "hacking" Then at least he could be charged with a crime.
