I've been living with mostly 90 plus since March. It's been warmer than normal this year. High temps like that in Spring are unusual even for us. I'm kind of dreading July and August actually. We're barely into Summer and I'm already wishing for Fall. The wall AC we got last year seems to be hanging in there, but first sign of a brown out, and I am so out of here! I will not sit here and fry like we did last year. I'll pack the pets, the computers, the camera gear, and head out to somewhere cool.

Last year we had blackouts that lasted all day several times. By the time it was all done we lost our family PC, the central air, and I nearly got heat stroke twice, literally. I will not do 90 plus sans air for more than half an hour. I just cannot take being in that level of high heat at all anymore.

I'm an extreme weather wimp these days it seems. My folks, they love it, they bask like lizards all summer long, but not me. Must be all the UK ancestry in my makeup, but I'm west coast person when it comes to weather. I like it charmingly cool to cold and semi-foggy.

I'm here for as long as they need me, but one day I'm moving to Northern CA or maybe up to Seattle/Tacoma. Forget the sun and the eternal heat. I need tons of real trees, access to rocky sea shores and the Pacific, and regular doses of rain. Sunshine and 90 degrees all the time just makes me hot, tired and cranky...

Meanwhile on the other side of the planet, it's been extremely cold here in Australia...

So go figure...

Things seem to be balancing out I'd say.

You're definitely in the wrong place. It snowed yesterday, for thirteenth day in a row. But heck, it does warm up to 33-34F in the afternoon now so it it generally melts off or turns to rain. Sunrise today was 2:45AM but the clouds kinda hid it.

That's not all that uncommon here in Upstate NY, especially after a long, cold and damp mud season (called spring elsewhere). Looking at some of the records, there have been record cold days and record warm days within 48 hours of each other. The further north you go, all it takes is a change in wind direction and the temp drops like a rock. Last week we had a 40 degree drop in a day. Now it's hot again. That's normal for around here although we always complain about it.

Yes, I know it's winter here. I've been living here all my life, I know how it works

What I mean to say is that it's colder than usual. You might think it's normal but it's the type of weather where people are complaining more than they would in previous years

Currently it's 95 degrees here and humid. What's the high supposed to be tomorrow? 58 degrees. Crazy.

Eh, Larry, it's just one more instance of record temperatures where and when they aren't supposed to be, too often for comfort, but the simple answer is, 'Something's bent.' According to Chicago, this big pattern should be pushing out shortly. For that city and several parts surrounding, they're expecting a drop of twenty degrees overnight. May not be tidy.

But there's some kind of massive atmospheric gyre circling all the way from where you are to about where I am. It will apparently be shoved past you forthwith. Don't put out the pilot light.

That's nice: I might add that in today's world people *don't* tend to account for sodium and potassium deficiency. It'll sneak up on ya. (Even if you think you know better. )

It looks like most days in Sydney were above normal so far in June unless you only count the past two days that were the only days below normal.
