Yep. Unfreaking believable. I just read the rebate T&C as well as the email from Adorama with the price and don't see a catch (unless its a mistake). $50 for that printer....the ink that comes with it is worth $100 alone. If I didnt already have one....well you know what I would be doing now.

The price is $449.95 and the rebate is $200, so how does that equal $50? Not to mention, it's not a cash rebate, it's an AMEX gift card. You're still spending that money, just on other things besides the printer.

The price I received from adorama in an email just 30 min ago says $249.95. Good point on the AMEX card however as not everyone considers that the same as cash.

The $249.95 is obviously them factoring in the $200 rebate, so it's not an additional $200 after that. You basically pay $449.95 and get a $200 Amex Rewards card later. There's definitely no printer here for just $50. Thread title should probably be changed to not mislead.

I got duped by Tmobile thinking a phone I was buying would get me a $50 rebate check. I was kind of bummed when it came in the form of a gift card. I guess if you consider using it on food, it's just as good as cash you would have spent on groceries.

You could be right. But when Adorama quotes me a price of $249 with no mention of rebate...I will pay them $249 or expect a sweet apology with a box of Limiteds. No, because they are only releasing the price by email it sounds like something special and worth checking into if you are looking for the Pro9000. I am sure enough that I will email them for clarification and repost here the answer.

I'm in the same boat as TheGuy. Adorama quoted me $249 and no where on the rebate does it say you have to pay$449 to get the $200 gift card. I thunk I'm gonna call and ask.

IT WAS A MISTAKE.

Just got an email from Adorama that declares K-9 the winner of this free for all. Below is Adorama Sales rep email but I xxx'ed her name to protect the innocent.

Hi,
We apologize for the confusion. The pinter is $449 before the rebate.

Thank you for shopping with us we appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

Well, B&H had this for $249.99 BEFORE rebate yesterday. My invoice reflects as much anyway. So, at B&H at least, the price was $50 after rebate.

Congrats on your deal. I expect you will be at least as happy with the printer itself.

$50 is a smoking price. When I got mine for $299 the cheapest price in town was 499, the norm was 549 (this is the original model not version 2) I got it online from bestbuy canada (where it was of course out of stock). I went all over trying to get a match no-one would touch it the dealer cost was $349 at the time and BB was just screwing with the market. Had to wait for it but it came eventually (i think Canon held BB orders for it until all other dealers had been satisfied and then some as punishment for screwing up the market)

Even at $249 it's a pretty sweet unit guys

Damn, I'm a day late When there's a deal like this it's better to actually not call the store as they'll catch on. Congrats for your deal scottie

I follow two guys (their company?) named @fstoppers on Twitter. They verified the deal with B&H then tweeted it. I couldn't believe it but figured, "what the heck?" Printer is supposed to be here tomorrow, can't wait!

Scottie, it seems you got away with it before they corrected things, but it definitely is not supposed to be that price as it's now temporarily out of stock, and listed at $449 and then a $200 rebate. I wonder if either Adorama or BandH saw the incorrect listing on the other ones site, then tried to price match it on theirs, then one or the other realized they were price matching an incorrect listing? Weird they would both have it incorrect, unless they got incorrect info from Canon.

Several people on the interwebs indicated they called B&H and confirmed the price before ordering. B&H even had some web site trouble and once fixed, made sure the deal was still in place. Either way, I was billed $249, the printer has shipped and the rebate is downloaded. It seems odd to me that, at least for B&H, it was a mistake with so many people verifying the deal both by email as well as by phone.

Here is the post on the fstoppers blog: fstoppers.com/the-canon-pro9000-mark-ii-is-currently-50-after-rebate (just add an http:// to the link)
