One day in about 1998, he changed his tune to the surprise of many constituents and supported a contract with Wackenhut. The next year, Wackenhut announced he was on board as a consultant.

This fine example of our political class is now living in a federal hotel, after it came to light that he took about $750,000 from contractors building a new court house. I've never understood why it took that many years for him to get there.
