Of course there must be some reasons we have so many enemies since we are such a "nice" country...........

And since I'll never have access to a corporate jet I could give a rats backside if they are taxed or not.....but sure seems stupid (since the underlying American principal is anytime money changes hands someone wants a cut, whether they deserve it or not) not to tax it.............

The second one is ,at best, kindergarten fiction......... see Japan.

I prefer my kindergarten story..............

Guy #1 watches way too much FLAKESnews.
Just like them he forgot completely about the result of 8 years of Bush and republican legislation. Not surprising he feels this way. Not to mention a HARD focus on supply side economics since the 12 years we spent under republican legislation under, Reagan/Bush.
That makes 20 years of it out of the last 30.
The strongest economy during those 30 years was under the guy I'm sure you refer to as Slick Willie.
Strange that he didn't remember all that.
Strange that he could only remember the name of one republican too.
Any questions?

#2?????????????????????????
The heritage foundation?
HA HA HA
They helped put us in this mess.
They continue to continue it.
Who did you say funds them?

Strange that guy #1 didn't notice that either.

Did you?

Funny, but I thought the speech was extremely tired, lame, and predictable.

Speech formula:
Blame Bush
Blame Republicans
Blame the "rich"
Threaten elderly
Threaten veterans
Last resort; quote Ronald Reagan

Yes, except they ARE the ones who put the world in this position.
So, don't admit to how it happened?

Any questions?

And the past several years of Democratic control have not put us even deeper into this mess instead of putting the brakes on the out of control Govt. spending? No, let's just continue what we've been doing and hope for a better outcome. The American taxpayers pockets cannot continue to be viewed as a bottomless source of revenue for the Govt's overspending ways.

Instead of sounding like a broken record for the past 3 years, how about some leadership Mr. President.

Bingo!!! Both parties s*uck. I happen to agree with the basic ideology of the Republicans (which, unfortunately they don't follow) and I disagree with the basic ideology of the Democrats (which they DO follow)

So in 2006 the house didn't go liberal? And in 2000 the senate liberals the majority by one vote when Jeffords went independent yet caucused with the dems. Or did that not happen?

Remember also that the economy was strong during Clinton but we also had a Conservative house not a liberal one as we had last major election. Just shows what a liberal house can destroy when it has a liberal president also.

Remember we did have a decent economy after downturn of 9-11. Didn't really go south until liberals took over.

First we would have to explain what that means.

Please tell me what bills the house of representatives or senate can pass without the president or the other house. I suppose the Dems in the house could have held up the debt ceiling and extracted concessions from the senate and the president at the point of an economic gun, but I don't recall that happening.

The president has used up a lot of political capital by doing what he promised - trying to work in a bi-partisan manner. At every step of the way the opposition has thwarted that goal. He has gone way beyond the desires of his party in pandering to the opposition when it pretends to cooperate.

The opposition's goal has not been to incrementally further their constituent's interests but to hurt the president (and the country) in the short run so they can blame him to gain power in the long run.

If only we could rewind the future, I'd like to see him publicly hand the keys to Boehner, stand back, & let him drive with full coverage of the resulting chaos and crash.

I'm afraid that any agreement with concessions regarding revenues will be insufficient to ward off a major crash which will then be used by the opposition to claim they were hamstrung by the concessions.

Let them choke on their poisoned apple.

In that context, a Hillary presidency would have been interesting in a different, but yet the same, way.

Liberals in control of either of the house or the White House. Soon you will have Cantor labelled as a ultra socialist or communist. Clinton is a moderate conservative as is Obama.

If I am not mistaken Obaman had already given the Republicans concessions of tax cuts for the rich previously and now they only cuts to the budget, I wonder if the next bill that he wants passed will require more cuts to spending and taxes and the next bill more cuts and tax cuts etc.

Some think that the government should just let the poor die and the rich get richer. Traditional conservatism did not believe that so throwing all the 'blame' on social safety net on your so called left should not be historically accurate either.

Eliminate all social safety net programs and see what happens.
