Michele Bachmann: Beware 'the Soviet Union'

QuoteQuote:
For Michele Bachmann, the hits keep coming. While on the campaign trail earlier this week, she mixed up Elvis Presley’s birthday with the day he died. Now, she has apparently brought an Elvis-era menace back from the dead, citing in an interview the growing might of—the Soviet Union.

What people recognize is that there’s a fear that the United States is in an unstoppable decline. They see the rise of China, the rise of India, the rise of the Soviet Union and our loss militarily going forward,” Bachmann said on conservative activist Jay Sekulow’s show. “And especially with this very bad debt ceiling bill, what we have done is given a favor to President Obama, and the first thing he’ll whack is 500 billion out of the military defense at a time when we’re fighting three wars. People recognize that.” (emphasis added)

hmmm, three wars? Or two? Or is it really five? Not sure what the hell she's talking about. But this is rich. I'll definitely vote for her in the primaries! But like hell in the general election. ;-)

Michelle can probably see the Soviet Union from her kitchen window. . . . when she's not tending to umpteen foster children. . . . .

Next thing she'll be saying is that we need to beware the Roman Empire... or maybe the Martians, who are regrouping from their attack in England in 1898 (or was it New Jersey in 1938).

What a NITWIT!!!

I think I have finally figured it out.
Michelle is actually an actress hired by Mit Romney.
She takes Sarah out of the headlines and by the time of the
Republican primaries she will be so discredited that the delegates
will flock to Mit. They wont care that he is not a born-again Christian,
will ignore his version of Obamacare in Mass., and will do anything to
disassociate themselves and their party from her - even acclaim Mit
as their standard bearer.
Simple.

A very scary nitwit.
Sara Palin is a nitwit, but in a Gomer Pyle, Al Bundy sort of way. Bachmann strikes me more as the Sadie Mae Glutz type.
She scares the crap out of me.

Yeah yeah, you're preaching to the converted here... Our lot in power at the moment are a bunch of over-privileged Thatcherite toffs who have used the excuse of austerity to slash and burn... They've already done untold damage, and they've not been in power long.

On the other hand, they do know where to find Libya on a map!

Wonder how long it will be before she blames Mexican drug tunnelers for today's earthquake in Virginia?

There seems to something in the American psyche that makes these airheads (like Palin and Bachmann) plausible candidates, whereas in other places where women have run for the top office they were very different types indeed (whether our own Gillard, Germany's Merkel or Brazil's Dilma Rouseff). What is it?
