Subject: hr4646

Spread the word my friends! We definitely donít want this to happen!!

Subject: hr4646

Keep in mind.... every deposit PLUS every withdrawal gets the 1 % hit..
So.... your direct deposit pays a fee/tax for each action, costing you 2% of
your financial activity: 1% when it comes in plus another 1% when it goes
out.

NOT A RUMOR...... HR 4646

1% tax on all bank transactions

Watch for this AFTER November elections; remember this BEFORE you VOTE ....
in case you think Obama's looking out for your best interest.

1% tax on all bank transactions HR 4646

This government just cannot think of enough ways to hurt the American
people! This Bill must die FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!

1% tax on all bank transactions HR 4646 - ANOTHER
NEW OBAMA TAX SLIPPED IN WHILE WE WERE ASLEEP.
Checked this on snopes, it's true! Check out HR 4646. (see below copied from
Snopes)

President Obama's finance team is recommending a one percent (1%)
transaction fee (TAX). Obama's plan is to sneak it in after the November
elections to keep it under the radar.

This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution - banks,
credit unions, savings and loans, etc. Any deposit you make, or even a
transfer within your account, will have a 1% tax charged.

~If your paycheck or your social security or whatever is direct deposit, it
will get a 1% tax charged for the transaction.
~If your paycheck is $1000, then you will pay Obama $10 just for the
privilege of depositing your paycheck in your bank.
Even if you hand carry your paycheck or any check into your bank for a
deposit, 1% tax will be charged.

you receive a $5,000 stock dividend from your broker, Obama takes $50 just
to allow you to deposit that check in the bank.

~If you take $1,000 cash to deposit at your bank, 1% tax will be charged.

~ Mind you, this is from the man who promised that, if you make under
$250,000 per year, you will not see one penny of new tax. Keep your eyes and
ears open, you will be amazed at what you learn about this guy's
under-the-table moves to increase the
number of ways you are taxed.

~Oh, and by the way, you receive a refund from the IRS next year and you
have it direct deposited or you walk in to deposit that check, you guessed
it. You will pay a 1% charge of that money just for putting it in your bank.
Remember, any money, cash, check or whatever, no matter where it came from,
you will pay a 1% fee if you put it in the bank.

Some will say, oh well, it's just 1%. Are you kidding me? It's a 1% tax
increase across the board. Remember, once the tax is there, they can also
raise it at will. And if anyone protests, they will just say, "oh,that's not
really a tax, it's a user fee"! Think this is no big deal? Go back and look
at the transactions you made from last year's banking statements. Then add
the total of all those transactions and deduct 1%.

Still think it's no big deal???

This was from nearly 2 years ago. 2009-2010 session.
H.R. 4646 [111th]: Debt Free America Act (GovTrack.us)

It had no co-sponsors and never made it out of committee.

This certainly wouldn't be popular. He wouldn't have enough votes to pass it. The problems with it are taxing the poor, which it looks like they get a tax credit for incomes less than 125k, and the big one making people less inclined to move their money. Money wouldn't flow as freely and people would think about it before making a transaction. Even if the amount would be negligible it would still cause some hesitation because they don't want to incur the tax. This also amounts to double taxation or even n-taxation which they try to avoid with semantics. We do need revenues though, we do need to raise taxes, but this is a dumb way to do it. This was however intended to replace income taxes at some point in the future according to your source.

The fact that it was an introduced bill isn't urban legend, but it seems that everything ever printed about it is crapola.

Well never ever voting in another republican president, unless there is a drastic change in stance for the party, is one way we can keep the debt in check. The irresponsible spending all started with Reagan and peaked with Bush the 2nd. Republicans say one thing and do another. How they have any credibility left with the people is beyond me. They are spendthrifts posing as financial advisers. Reagan marked the end of a great institution, and I think of him as one of the great villains of history.

Never voting for another incumbent would go a long way toward resolving several problems.

As long as that incumbent is a Republican, it might help.

Otherwise, it becomes a revolving door to more of the same.

True, but the longer any of them are rooted, the more corrupt they become, and the more damage the learn how to get away with.
The longer an inmate stays in prison, the more he learns about how to be a better criminal. Congress works the same way.

That may be true where you are, but I have shown you some that have seemingly resisted.

At least one of the old guard in my state is still doing his job.
I posted a link a while back about a bill Carl Levin wrote to limit shell corporations.
No one replied.
When someone tries to do the correct thing it's not news somehow?

Voting someone out, just because they're there, can be counter productive.

If I were a Republican, I would vote out those that gave in to teabagger pressure.

Ah, there's the fly in the ointment and why the "don't vote for incumbents" principal won't work. EVERYBODY thinks their Reps'/Senators' fecal mater is aromatically neutral. It's always all of the others that are the problem.
Unless we clean house completely one time, the message will never be heard.

Can you show me where and when that happened and the results?

In "10" it resulted in the election of a bunch of teabaggers that have no idea how to govern.
Indeed, they only added to the chaos and gridlock.
The result was not a positive thing.
Unless you agree with the teabagger/libertarians.

The other fly in the ointment could be the Republican nominee.

BREAKING NEWS!!

To save the economy, on September 18, 2011, Obama will announce that he is ordering the immigration department to start deporting old people (instead of illegal’s) in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs.

Old people are easier to catch, and will not remember how to get back home!

I started crying when I thought of you all and me. So we had better-------------------------

RUN, YOU OLD BUZZARD, RUN!!
