I agree, well worth the time to watch.
I wonder how many of the mortgage and health care corporations are traded on wallstreet?

great video

i think one of the most important points to take home is that in more and more relationships, 1 person cannot support a 4 person family (2 adult 2 children)

and housings costs at this point are just silly :/

A rebuttal

Elizabeth Warren and liberalism, twisting the ‘social contract’ - The Washington Post

Can you count the holes???
QuoteQuote:

Government facilitates this cooperation with roads, schools, police, etc. — and by getting out of its way. This is a sensible, dynamic, prosperous society’s “underlying social contract.”
Why draw the lines here....... Health care is equal (at least) to the importance of roads and schools.
Schools if we feed their minds why not feed their bodies as well..........both can provide productive individuals.....

I lost track at around 500.
It's all lingo, buzz words and gobbledygook.
Like most conservative commentary.

The video is much more honest and straight forward.

Housing, health care, child care, education, transportation are big killers of any superficial gains in Middle Class income. This confirms the caution I always advise in comparing U.S. incomes with countries where those things are either free or much cheaper as a result of government involvement.

Why no comments from the "right"?
They must be afraid of little truth.

There is very little politics in this video--just facts.

True. The fact is that over the past 40 years our government has failed the middle class. Not the Republicans. Not the Democrats. Both of them. Why?

Money, the tendency of the American voter to believe fictions,--a number of reasons.

It very much is both parties. Coincidentally, I saw Inside Job this week. The movie pointed out very well that it was the Clinton white house that nipped regulation of derivatives in the bud.

Well, gosh-a-rooties, Lemmie think.
Um, abortion? Gays? Birth certificates? We eat too much? Our dogs don't get enough cheese?
No, Wait!.......................Jimmie Carter!

Those are some of the distractions.

I've been trying to articulate that this is done through the wonders of marketing/PR ( It's more than commercials everywhere.)
It's a saturation of propaganda
It's not just what you think you see.
Do you remember subliminal advertising?

It is more basic than that IMO. Americans want to believe that we are special, and that we do not need to learn from others. We are suckers for any propaganda that preys on that.

This stuff is very scary to the "right".
It shows that, our situation can't be blamed on any one event.
It shows that our current situation has been in the planning and execution for more decades than is easy to fathom.

There's an age old axiom that says, "follow the money".
It leads to wallstreet.

Can you deny it?

"American Exceptionalism" can be both a rallying cry and a crutch. These days it's more of a crutch.
