We have an Afrikaans saying "te veel van 'n goeie ding is nie gesond nie" meaning that too much of a good thing is not healthy. We are all just a lot of guinea pigs for scientists. This is almost like the ongoing butter versus margarine debate. At one stage we had an article in a local magazine, saying that "braaivleis" (Afrikaans for barbeque, or grilled meat over open wood fire/coals), causes cancer. I "braai" at least twice a week (it is almost South Africa's favorite pass time, particularly over weekends) , we have such nice weather to do it in, why not? if I have to worry about every new scientific finding, I would probably not have any time to really live life
