What your choice of phone says about you.

Android vs. iPhone: Battle of the Mobile Operating Systems <== clink the link

Android users are more likely: male, suburban/rural, younger, less educated, conservative, pessimistic, untraveled

iPhone/iOS users are more likely to be: female, urban, older, better educated, liberal, optimistic, more traveled, etc

Trends or stereotypes? How do you fit?

NOTE: I occasionally switch my TracFone on, so I'm NONE OF THE ABOVE.

You forgot that most iPhone users tend to be less tech-suave than android users... who don't need their hand held through every single app and operation of the device.

I have an Android phone of course, but I also would go to a blackberry before I gave in to...

although I plan on purchasing an iPhone 4s in the near future, I don’t currently own, nor have I owned a mobile phone at all for the past 6 or 7 years. actually I take that back. I have a nokia E72 that I currently use when I’m in the philippines. but it stays there and only gets used there. and reading the above, I guess once again I don’t fit the stereotypes. I guess thats a good thing.

Uh, let's see. I just stopped using my Sony Ericsson Z520 because I lost the charger, and am now using my g/f's old Razr. Don't think either of those apply.

male - Yes
suburban/rural - Nope, main city in a metro area of around 353,000 people.
younger - Getting very close to 30.
less educated - A 4 year degree in computer science and a 2-year general degree.
conservative - "social philosophy that promotes the maintenance of traditional institutions and supports, at the most, minimal and gradual change in society" ... I don't care to be on either side.
pessimistic - I don't think so.
untraveled - Japan twice

I say none of above.... male, suburban, university level education, travelled yes, political persuasion?-- distrustful, and a complete optimist
Problem with the mobiles these days is that they all seem to be app focussed instead of contact focussed. I want a list of contacts, their numbers, their social networks if any, skype address and email and everything linked in that way. Opening an app for this and an app for that is a load of bollox... So I use a N900 nokia which is contact focussed and will be getting a N9 when I can buy one.
Last but not least, a mobile is for making calls.... iPhones are crap and I mean really crap in low reception areas.

I would be perfecetly fine with my LG500C I owned years ago... but the battery life on it was horrendous so it had to go. A camera phone w/mp3 player is all the gadgetry I really need.. now days that is a drop in the hat.. an 8MP great camera and decent mp3 player with 1-4GB stick to hold pics/music and have GOOD reception and call quality... F-this texting crap, everyone walking around with their heads down texting for 20 minutes what could be accomplished in a 30 second phone call.

But what does your choice of camera say about you? That's the real question :P

And I use a Windows Phone 7. I'm in some sort of identity limbo apparently.

And methinks that there are far too many Android/iPhone users who actually feel their phone is representative of themselves.

I am secretly jealous of the iPhone people but refuse to join the Apple Zombies & let them take over everything and suck out my brains.

Feeling fine living as an outcast with my Nokia N900. Will probably be getting an N9 pretty soon.

Could be. Am I in your will?

But I digress. Too bad there are no data|stereotypes for TracFone and dispos-a-fone and other dumb-fone users. Hillbillies and homeless and terrorists maybe?
