I am sure he wasn't asking for a definition of the word. The expectation is for you to explain how Obama is a neo-marxist ideologue. I expect it to be the same sort of "facts" and fallacious reasoning that conclude ". . . Obamacare" really does gut Medicare." Forbes magazine does a nice job of exposing that right wing distortion in the article " Does Obamacare really cut Medicare Benefits to Senior Citizens?":

If you think Forbes magazine is biased, possibly you'd trust the Washinton Post a bit more in the article "Fact Checking the GOP debate: $500 billion in cuts to Medicare?":

If that still isn't enough for you, then possibly the SeniorCorp's assessment (a group representing those who would be most affected by cuts to Medicare) might turn you away from propagating misinformation like ". . . Obamacare" really does gut Medicare" or spreading around rabid propaganda like Obama is a neo-marxist ideologue) instead of checking your facts and reasoning with honesty. Links at the bottom of the article "Does Obamacare Really Cut Medicare Benefits To Senior Citizens?" provide lots of useful information:
les Under Obamacare $650 billion dollars is cut from Medicare over tens years. That was the Obama White House number they discussed. You can post a thousand articles but it will not change what Obamacare is going to do to in cutting hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare funding. At a time when Medicare recipients are growing exponentially with the aging baby boomer generation. How that is going to happen without reducing Medicare services or charging seniors for care is yet to be seen.

The Occupy movement is desiring a heavier level of socialism, and that has been referred to here as Neo-Marxist (for what that means?- just a reference to the new way Communism is being implemented).

The Occupy movement is Communist and is marching us straight into are current morphing!

I presume, by your rhetoric, that you are well enough off to want a continuation of the status quo, and your fight is to maintain it even as your country goes to hell in a handbasket around you?

The Neo-Marxist world that we are moving right into can and should be rejected by anyone desiring liberty. Opposing this legislation is just one small step toward that end. As is opposing Obama and ~90% of the Dems... ...and, believe it or not, ~90% of the Repubs.
rejecting 90% of the polititions is status quo...

Laughable!!!

And from the sounds of your reply, you have no idea what I was talking about...

Ah yes, I was wondering when that tired old horse would get trotted out (actually brought out on a stretcher).
You realize that nag is so close to death that she is barely breathing now.
So the truth is a tired old nag?

So, neo-marxist = marxist = an advocate of marxism (or pertaining to marxism), and

Marxist - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

With the above in mind calling Mr Obama or his policies marxist (or neo-marxist) is patently absurd.
Maybe in your world jolepp it is patently absurd but in reality it is spot on.

it seems you are saying no matter what the facts are, you will persist in beliefs that cannot be supported with evidence.

Don't you see you guys are revealing how little you understand about Marxism? Have you actually studied it? I have, as I am quite sure Jolepp has, and you are just plain incorrect. Throwing around the Marxist label is pure demagoguery which, like all demagoguery, is meant to stir up fear and loathing. Only when you first honestly and accurately characterize what's being proposed can a meaningful discussion be had.

I don't believe for a minute this funding will be cut. Obama had to position some cuts in the bill to make the accounting part of it equal out. It is just an accounting gimmick.

Now it is being used by the Republicans against Obama and the Dems. Purely a political move to scare seniors, and taken straight out of the Dems playbook on how to scare seniors and gain votes. Pathetic!

For me the label is only to convey Communism. And as such, is not really correct, but it conveys a meaning none the less.

I'll quit using it, so we don't have to continue arguing about what the meaning of the word "is" is.

les the facts are that Obamacare cuts hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare. That is what the legislation does. Keep posting article after article it doesn't change that fact.

Talking about facts poster joe.penne started a thread several weeks ago title something like "The Obama Administration-More Lies and Deciet".

You posted a similar list about "facts" that I showed was totally inaccurate. You never amended that post to reflect the truth. So I don't see facts being something you whole heartily support unless of course the source is from some left wing site or blogger that supports what you want the facts to be.

In other words Les is correct, you use it as a "bogeyman" to frighten people without having any clear understanding of what the word means?

No, I use it to convey Communism.

Some like Communism, some don't.

Marxism does convey communism (though no communist experiment has ever applied the full scale of Marx's ideas). So does the term "socialism." However, neither the US nor any of the other European/Asian countries I listed above have the slightest interest in collectivist economies. Do you understand that communism is an economic system? The US and other countries mentioned are thoroughly committed to capitalism; it's just that it has been recognized that when it comes to the most essential services, citizens are not well served (or served at all) by the free market.

I couldn't disagree more.

And the US is not practicing Capitalism, the current lame attempt is an insult to capitalism.
