$6,000+ and built like an SUV. No doubt good for some professionals, but I think I'd rather pay the extra and get an M9.

Similar to what Strobist says, except medium format digital back etc. instead of Leica.

Could be nice, depending how much mass and bulk they cropped off the bottom, there. Face-detection, though? In a 'pro' camera?

Probably not my kind of 'pro.'

Still a big beast with lower megapixels than many DX format cameras. Personally, I cannot see the point in the bigger camera without the corresponding extra detail. Rather expensive camera too. Not on my drooling list.

Well, I suppose a lot of us wouldn't be here with Pentax if that was the kind of machine we were after in the first place.

I happen to like a fairly-substantial camera body, myself, (And not too much weight and bulk in lenses, if possible,) but there's a point past which it's not helpful, and there's a lot of those capabilities I just don't need, (Especially for money I'm not likely to have. ) so those are for someone else. 'sOK.

Trey Ratcliff : "The new Nikon D4 that is coming out? Not interested."

I can’t picture myself investing any more money in DSLR bodies and lenses. The new Nikon D4 that is coming out? Not interested.

3rd Gen Cameras are already here, and they will only get better according to all the laws of size and speed we’ve come to know and love.

The D4, to me, looks like a dumbed down version of the D3.
