Following speeches from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Rep. Michele Bachmann, CPAC is hosting the panel “The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American Identity” with Peter Brimelow, the founder and head of VDARE.com.

VDARE is a White Nationalist website, run by Brimelow, which frequently publishes the works of anti-Semitic and racist writers and is named after Virginia Dare, who is believed to be the first child of English parents born in the Americas. Brimelow, an immigrant from Great Britain, expresses his fear of the loss of America’s white majority, blames non-white immigrants for social and economic problems and urges the Republican Party to give up on minority voters and focus on winning the white vote. He also said that a New York City subway is the same as an Immigration and Naturalization Service waiting room, “an underworld that is not just teeming but also almost entirely colored.”

As Romney, Santorum, Gingrich and other Republican leaders like Speaker John Boehner and Leader McConnell are scheduled to appear at CPAC, do they have any problem speaking at a conference which is giving a platform to birthers, apartheid apologists and white nationalists?

If this is going to be the case, Newt will be in some hot water.

In the earliest years of colonization, adultery carried the penalty of death, although there is no evidence that this extreme measure was ever employed. In most cases, those convicted of adultery were fined, publicly whipped or flogged, or branded. As in the case of fornication, women tended to be punished more severely then men.

Come to think of it, there would be a lot of current and former modern day political charlatans who's heads would roll. Maybe we should go back to the 17th century.

Great question. It's not like the history of CPAC didn't give them advance warning of what goes on there. From the Wikipedia:

Matthew Albright, a journalist for the award-winning Louisiana State University Daily Reveille, has chided CPAC, writing: "The youth presence at CPAC is disturbing — but only because CPAC itself is disturbing. The event is a riotous and self-congratulatory anger festival showcasing the many faults of the most militant, reactionary and dangerous wings of the Republican Party and the conservative movement. The prime speakers at the event included Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter — a veritable laundry list of exactly who should not be in charge of steering a movement, let alone a political party." Albright also pointed to CPAC's warm welcome for James O'Keefe, who is serving a three-year probationary sentence (2010 to 2013), having pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count, reduced from an initial FBI felony charge of maliciously interfering with the office telephones of U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. Albright wrote: "Instead of being shunned, this thug — who may well be a felon before the year is out — was given a hero's welcome at the party, including an open bar tab, VIP spots and all the cigars he could smoke.

At CPAC 2012 the members invited white nationalist Bob Vandervoort to moderate a panel entitled "The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the Pursuit of Diversity is Weakening the American Identity." Other invitees included Peter Brimelow,; editor of the white nationalist website VDARE, and Serge Trifkovic; the ex-spokesman for the Serbian war Criminal Biljana Plavsic.

CPAC is here, so it’s time for everyone’s annual look at the psychos invited to the premier conservative event of the year, and those unfortunate enough to have been excluded.

GOProud, the gay Republican group that was founded because the Log Cabin Republicans were considered too concerned about gay civil rights and not sufficiently focused on “fiscal issues,” is not invited this year, because they are too “aggressive” about being gay, which made Jim DeMint uncomfortable.

CPAC also uninvited the John Birch Society, which had made a triumphant return to mainstream conservative acceptance in 2010, when they co-sponsored the conference.

But! While the Birchers and the open homosexualists are no longer welcome, there is still room for multiple outspoken white nationalists!

Only a matter of time till someone figures out that rolling back women's vote, and that of the minorities, needs to be a part of the program.

On a different note, here is something quite rational from a conservative. Republicans need more than rhetoric on defense - The Washington Post George Will may or may not be a CPAC favorite, but on this note, he is in agreement with their favorite doctor.
