Emergency contraception is not 'abortion.' Even if you say Jesus says so.
I thought you were all for the 'free market?' It's not a 'free market' if religious ideologues who run the local Wal-mart control what you can buy or your doctor can prescribe.
As you can see, the 'conscience clause' foot in the door didn't stop there: now they call the *regular* pill a 'conscience issue' even if they deny prescriptions or notify parents via the government into situations *they don't care about.* There's even a state where they deny emergency contraception in *rape kits* but give rapists paternity rights and access to their victims for eighteen years.
What next? More Catholic Church ruling our lives about sex? I hate to bring it up, but they used to have too much influence over that before. You might have heard it in the news decades later, and since then.
Contraception is not abortion, and abortion is not for your churches or politicians or even companies to control, either.
It's an equal protection thing, ...you can't use your pharmacist's license to claim to be a pharmacist and then start playing theocrat.
As for 'conscience,' those don't all obey the Religious Right. Some of us have our own consciences. Contrary to what some will tell you, in *my* religion, decisions about abortion are weighty, and informed by *our* beliefs. Those beliefs don't obey your definition, or push off the responsibility onto the government or some church or some Christianist claiming to be a professional. Our consciences are our *own.*
