I think you missed my point.

I don't believe that religious employers should be forced to cover it or not offer health insurance at all. I do feel that's a violation of their civil rights to make them go there. Same thing with pharmacists.
Alternately if the employer feels so strongly about it they can shut the door and the pharmacist can do like wise. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Do you not think it could be the thin edge of the wedge? Are there not sects that refuse medical care entirely? Or refuse blood transfusions?
Exactly.

Rush may actually believe all the crap he spouts but he also gets paid well for doing so. That makes him, by far, the biggest slut in this situation.

But please Rush... please please please.... no sex videos of you... I'd have to poke my eyes out.

Rush Limbaugh detained in viagra bust

QuoteQuote:
Conservative talk host Rush Limpbaugh, 55, was detained at the Palm Beach Airport Monday after authorities said they found a bottle of the prescription drug Viagra in his possession.

(The widely abused drug is for erectile dysfunction, which means that Limpbaugh has to take pills to arouse his diminutive ***** enough for normal sexual activity).

"Mr. Limpbaugh," he says, "is in all the risk groups. It has to do with repressed desires, tight sphinctering, narrow world views, or the simple curiosity to see an organ not seen in years or sometimes even decades."

IF you dig deep enough you may find Rush "doesn't believe this crap" ....it's just bucks to him..
I wish I could re-find the interview where he blatantly states.. "I don't care for politics, I'm just an "entertainer"".........

Found it: puff piece........
Rush Limbaugh Is Just Getting Warmed Up - NYTimes.com

QuoteQuote:
“Do you know what bought me all this?” he asked, waving his hand in the general direction of his prosperity. “Not my political ideas. Conservatism didn’t buy this house. First and foremost I’m a businessman. My first goal is to attract the largest possible audience so I can charge confiscatory ad rates. I happen to have great entertainment skills, but that enables me to sell airtime.”
Who's the "whore"????????????

worth contemplating.. apparently he didn't respect his father "quite enough"........

QuoteQuote:
Limbaugh’s father, Rush Jr., was a lawyer, too, a prominent local Republican activist and the most influential figure in his sons’ lives. He served as a pilot in World War II and became vehemently anti-Communist and very much committed to the ideas and ideals of small-town Protestant America. Limbaugh remembers his father playing host to Vice President Richard Nixon in Cape Girardeau in the 1956 election. To this day, Limbaugh calls his father “the smartest man I’ve ever met.”

Certainly he was one of the most opinionated and autocratic. “On Friday nights my friends would come over to the house just to listen to my dad rant about politics,” Limbaugh recalls. “He was doing the same thing as I do today, without the humor or the satire. He didn’t approve of making fun of presidents. He didn’t think that sort of thing was funny.”

Well, to be fair I'm of two minds when it comes to forcing all insurance companies to pay for contraception. On the one hand I'm a realist who doesn't think that celibacy is the answer for everyone, is totally pro birth control and people using it and not having babies until they are ready to and on the other hand I don't believe that religious employers should be forced to cover it or not offer health insurance at all. I do feel that's a violation of their civil rights to make them go there.
Hmm it's an interesting debate. On reflection, I don't think there should be a *law* saying that anyone who wants any form of contraception should be able to get it on their private medical insurance. However! - If a doctor prescribes a contraceptive pill for *medical reasons* - of COURSE it should be covered.

As far as getting your hands on contraceptives for family planning goes, what's the coverage of planned parenthood centres, and can people on low incomes / under 18s get their prescription charges waived?

Colin Powell Suggests Republicans Are Afraid Of Rush Limbaugh

QuoteQuote:
"The problem I have with the party right now is when [Limbaugh] says things that I consider to be completely outrageous, and I respond to it, I would like to see other members of the party do likewise. But they don't.

I know of several instances where sitting members in Congress or elsewhere in positions of responsibility in the party made like criticisms of Rush and within 24 hours they were backing away because there is a strong base of support for Mr. Limbaugh.

Steele to Rush: I'm sorry

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says he has reached out to Rush Limbaugh to tell him he meant no offense when he referred to the popular conservative radio host as an “entertainer” whose show can be “incendiary.”

“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in a telephone interview. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”

I personally think that religious sects that bar medical care are rather idiotic. No one should have to die of having strep throat in a day and age when a simple antibiotic pill can prevent it. That being said I have reservations about certain types of medical care being forced upon people. I don't think that people should just be forced to undergo treatment like blood transfusions regardless.

I have a living will. I'm strictly DNR, no CPR, no blood or organ transfusions without my consent etc. That surprises a lot of people and my own family gives me a hard time about it, but that's what I want in those circumstances. I am not an advocate of extreme care, of prolonging life under extreme circumstances. Last thing I'd ever want is to end up like Terri Schiavo. I just don't trust the hospitals here not to do all that unless I've clearly told them not to in writing.

Mitt Romney’s private equity firm Bain Capital owns one of America’s largest media conglomerates, Clear Channel Communications, Inc., which broadcasts numerous popular talk-show hosts with incalculable influence in the 2012 GOP primary. Among the radio personalities syndicated by Clear Channel or aired on hundreds of stations it owns nationwide are Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, and many others.

I suppose that depends upon your definition of "medical reasons." Pregnancy is a medical condition which causes a great deal of inconvenience and discomfort as well as risk. Preventing that condition would seem to be a "medical reason." Much of what medical science has given us is designed to prevent less risky (and equally "natural") conditions. It is a difficult path to go down when insurers pick and choose medical services which are covered, and send people to charities for the rest. Ironically, or, perhaps consistent with the difficulties women face, the other struggle over the years has been to assure that insurers cover pregnancy and childbirth. Only through the new act, was this issue resolved. http://www.healthcare.gov/news/factsheets/2011/08/pregnant-women.html

This whole debate would be much easier if we just got the employer out of the picture.
