Interestingly, one person is in the least liked top three for all three political parties. For Republicans, the three least liked current affairs personalities are Nancy Grace (25%), Rush Limbaugh (24%) and Chris Matthews (18%). For Democrats, the three news personalities that are the least favorite are Rush Limbaugh (66%), Bill O'Reilly (45%), and Sean Hannity (23%) while for Independents it is Rush Limbaugh (49%), Bill O'Reilly (31%) and Nancy Grace (25%).

New Japanese ‘gun’ can silence speech - BlogPost - The Washington Post

Should be permanently pointed at el-douchebag.....

QuoteQuote:
The device, developed by Kazutaka Kurihara at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and Koji Tsukada at Ochanomizu University, can jam the words of speakers more than 100 feet away, Yahoo News reports.

The gun works by using the concept of delayed auditory feedback. A microphone attached to the device picks up the words being said — and then plays it back 0.2 seconds later. The human brain, hearing this echo effect, becomes immediately confused and interprets it as silence. The device has no harmful effects.
Limbaugh apologizes...probably should have stopped here....

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress.
of course he didn't......

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

Limbaugh "apologizes" HAH!

It seems that Limbaugh has "apologized" to Ms Fluke for his vile statements: Limbaugh apologizes to law student for insult Do notice that Limbaugh stated: "I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke." I don't see how anyone could read or hear his flatulence and interpret it as anything other than a personal attack. Given that a number of his sponsors have finally seen the light and dumped him, and that he has been criticized across party lines (albeit a bit warily by the Republicans) it would seem that this wretched bully has realized that his income is in danger. So we see the depth of Limbaugh's convictions.

So far, departing sponsors include, Sleep Number, Legal Zoom, Citrix and Quicken Loans. According to a customer service rep, he President of Carbonite backups is meeting with Limbaugh to discuss whether that company will continue to run ads.

IMO, Rush Limbaugh is an egotistical, hateful, bloated gasbag who doesn't even slightly deserve the vast fortune he enjoys. In a just world, he wouldn't be allowed near the microphone at an Arby's drivethru, let alone a broadcast booth.

Here's a link to Huffington in which the author says that Limbaugh's ratings are total fabrications: Cenk Uygur: A Challenge to Rush: Prove Your Ratings

Since he lies about almost everything else, why not his ratings? Glenn Beck self-distructed, maybe its time for this rancid putrid lump to return to the ooze from whence he sprang.

AOL is 8th advertiser to pull Limbaugh ads

QuoteQuote:
AOL is 8th company to pulls ads from Rush Limbaugh's show after he called law student a 'slut'

AOL Inc. says it is suspending its advertising on Rush Limbaugh's radio show in reaction to his derogatory comments about a law student who testified about birth control.

At least seven other companies have pulled ads from Limbaugh's show because of his comments.

AOL says the company determined that Limbaugh's comments "are not in line with our values."

Limbaugh called 30-year old law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" last week. Fluke testified to Democratic members of Congress in support of a requirement that health care companies provide coverage for contraception. Limbaugh apologized over the weekend.

David Frum has an opinion piece on CNN web site I think is worth reading. And there is also one about the Georgetown University defending Ms Fluke.

What gets me is the number of people on some of the comment pages defending Rush and stating that she went to Congress to ask for money to buy pills so she could have lots of sex. Where did they all get that idea? Must be something in the water.

I think that any time a person comes to Congress, or Parliament, to testify they should be treated with dignity so that others make the effort in the future. Their views can be argued or even discreditied and in the case where they are making claims to be qualified as an expert, their expertise can be questioned but not what Rush did. Were the banker's or auto executive's sex lifes questioned? Or the 5 men who sat on the committee? Other than the obvious question is what do 5 religious men understand about female reproduction but I do not think anyone made insults t their own private lives. At least I hope not

Faux News Bill O’Reilly Attacks Sandra Fluke

Bill O’Reilly has joined Rush Limbaugh’s sexist assault on 30-year-old law student Sandra Fluke. On tonight’s broadcast, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly attacked and mocked Sandra Fluke, claiming that Fluke was insisting the government pay for her “social life.” O’Reilly’s attack mirrors Limbaugh, who has insisted on that Fluke’s advocacy for contraception coverage is motivated by sexual promiscuity. Watch it:

Bill O’Reilly’s attack is not only sexist and mean spirited, he has his facts completely wrong. Fluke is advocating for contraception to be covered under Georgetown University’s private insurance plan. Fluke became active on the issue “after her friend developed ovarian cysts and found that the oral contraception she needed to stop the cysts from growing was not covered under the school’s insurance.”
