If the news last summer that Mitt Romney had a $12 million expansion planned for his oceanfront property here helped portray him as a member of the top 1 percent, the new disclosure that the renovation includes elevators for his four-car garage is not likely to burnish his image as a man of the people.

I'd like one of those. That way I could get all three of my cars in my two car garage. Oh, and I don't know the cost, but I know some folks with car lifts like that and I'm not thinking they're 1%'ers.

All the candidates are loaded. At least Mitt has a harvard law and business degree and made much of his wealth through successful careers, VS Obama who has made most of his money off of some books.

this is the one reason I dislike romney so very much, and the one reason, his success and how he uses his money for exuberant things bothers me. not so much because he thinks we are all stupid little pawns and tries to be 'relatable to the underclass', but because he made his money off the back of the american economy. he made money by destroying jobs and the lives of american people for personal profit. corporate raiders are about money, plain and simple, and will destroy whatever and whoever they so chose to get it. this includes the american family. he's not a leech to the system, he's like a viking invader, plundering it for its gold, then deciding to live where it has plundered and rule over the people. he has plundered and eroded the american economy for his personal gain. and that is a slap in the face of the middle class much less the poor. job creator my ass. job destroyer and wealth plunderer.

Yeah, but they're probably actually mechanics. (And I know mechanics and small businesses with inadequate or failure-prone lifts.

That's assuming Romney's 'garage elevators' aren't actually just *elevators to his beach house garage.*

It's not like either's necessarily an impractical feature, but a twelve-million dollar *addition* is hardly what I'd call 'in touch with the people.'
