Rick Santorum is poised to suspend his bid for the presidency on Tuesday, removing the last significant obstacle in Mitt Romney's now all-but-certain march to the Republican presidential nomination.
Santorum will make the announcement at a press conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania shortly, a senior member of his campaign staff told CBS News.

There was 0% chance that he would've won PA or the nomination. But the three of them together could've possibly delayed Mitt.

actually, if Newt and Paul droped out, Santorum would have a nice chance of winning the nomination.

I think that ship has sailed. You're right, though, if it had been one of either Newt/Santorum and Paul wasn't in the race they would've had a decent chance of winning. Especially if Iowa had been reported correctly.

Right now all they can do is pick up delegates here and there but it's over.

Brilliant. The guy who thinks the NHS caused the collapse of the British empire and Dutch people wear 'don't euthanise me' bracelets gives way to the tree-height-obsessed guy who thinks the cold war isn't over, likes to fire people and transports his dog on the roof of his car. I don't think Democrats should start crying a river just yet.

I'm not going to say that Mitt Romney is an ObamaKiller. But every day that Santorum was in the race made Romney look stupider. Now Romney can step away, look presidential, and practice his etch-a-sketching.
