Google "Pakistan sponsored terrorism" and see how many pages come up.
Someone is claiming it.
Originally posted by Wheatfield It doesn't matter. What matters is has the guy committed an act of treason for aiding and abetting a foreign military attack within the borders of his mother country, and what is a just punishment for that crime?
Everything else really is secondary and of no consequence to the discussion.
And really, if one cannot in truthfulness say that he or she would support the same kind of activity by foreign operatives within their country's borders, then they has no business commenting negatively about some other country's behaviour.
Here is an excerpt from the official statement of the Pakistani government:
Quote: The Government of Pakistan recognizes that the death of Osama bin Ladin is an important milestone in fight against terrorism and that the Government of Pakistan and its state institutions have been making serious efforts to bring him to justice.
However, the Government of Pakistan categorically denies the media reports suggesting that its leadership, civil as well as military, had any prior knowledge of the US operation against Osama bin Ladin carried out in the early hours of 2nd May 2011.
Abbottabad and the surrounding areas have been under sharp focus of intelligence agencies since 2003 resulting in highly technical operation by ISI which led to the arrest of high value Al Qaeda target in 2004. As far as the target compound is concerned, ISI had been sharing information with CIA and other friendly intelligence agencies since 2009. The intelligence flow indicating some foreigners in the surroundings of Abbottabad, continued till mid April 2011. It is important to highlight that taking advantage of much superior technological assets, CIA exploited the intelligence leads given by us to identify and reach Osama bin Ladin, a fact also acknowledged by the US President and Secretary of State, in their statements. It is also important to mention that CIA and some other friendly intelligence agencies have benefitted a great deal from the intelligence provided by ISI. ISI’s own achievements against Al Qaeda and in War on Terror are more than any other intelligence agency in the World.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs The public statement goes on to express concerns about the manner of the operation and state that it is not "precedent," but does not directly condemn it. It even appears to take partial credit for it. One columnist in Pakistan calls his government's statements on Bin Ladin nonsense or "nonsensical."

What this doctor did was furnish DNA which might help locate a person whom his mother country openly stated to be a criminal and whom his government openly stated it was seeking to find and punish, and gave it to a government which his government openly stated to be an ally it was supporting in the same goal by also furnishing information. That is a very curious form of treason. It would not fit
our constitutional definition--unless we were considered an "enemy" of Pakistan.
