+1 Great article and photos! I've been to some of the places Sullivan photographed and most look rather different now.

Note: You might want to change the spelling of your link from "as it was chartered for the first time" to "as it was charted for the first time".

That link is a direct cut and paste of the Daily Mail url for the article.

Daily Mail reporters and editors are well known in the UK for not knowing basic vocabulary, grammar and spelling!

For anyone in or around the general Pittsburgh area... There's aplace generally around the "North Side/North Shore area" (perhaps technically within walking distance ??) of two of the stadiums in Pgh... It's called Bernie Photo. But not the actuall retail store; which is another issue all together, but... There's a place nearby that has quite a collection of very historic photographs and also camera gear. Well worth a trip and also might I also suggest a donation
