Administration sparing some from deportation:

QuoteQuote:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration will stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives. The election-year initiative addresses a top priority of an influential Latino electorate that has been vocal in its opposition to administration deportation policies.

The policy change, announced Friday by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, will affect as many as 800,000 immigrants who have lived in fear of deportation. It also bypasses Congress and partially achieves the goals of the so-called DREAM Act, a long-sought but never enacted plan to establish a path toward citizenship for young people who came to the United States illegally but who have attended college or served in the military.

So let me see if I have this one correct.

The term is...

Illegal Alien ; emphasis on the illegal portion.

But now; outside of the being illegal part... If you haven't been doing anything illegal outside of that, then we'll let you stay here in america. After all, people whom have earned their illegal status have only been breaking numerous law anyway.

So those 800k people that illegally took american jobs from taxpaying citizens, most never filing federal tax documents, and also somehow managed to get hired - are now all given a free pass.

The Rude Pundit

The Rude Pundit is awaiting the arrival of Defcon ****tard in the right's reaction to the new Obama administration directive that the Department of Homeland Security no longer deport young illegal immigrants who meet certain criteria, which means nearly a million people will no longer face persecution and will have a chance to stay and work and go to school legally. Defcon ****tard is the second highest level of outrage. Conservative reactions to anything Democrats do range from Defcon Batshit all the way up to Defcon Lewinsky.

people don't "somehow" manage to get hired. they get hired because they are the most qualified and cheapest option for the job. They are not "taking" someones job. They have earned their right to work.

You mean the employers - private sector, capitalistic, Republican leaning, profit seeking, job creating - the EMPLOYERS broke the law 800k times, denying american jobs to american taxpaying citizens, instead preferring to hire ILLEGAL (emphasis on the illegal) foreign alien workers.

But perhaps Nester answered that one correctly...

In america one must usually be sixteen years of age or greater; and either an american citizen or have a work visa (work papers). To my understanding there is no variations on those regulations. So unless someone is in fact legally permtted to work - then they are in fact taking someone elses job.

Multi-billion dollar companies simply not paying their employees what they are worth and then violating united states federal law. Wondering if any of these employers will ever face some of those 800k++ federal charges?

For example If people from china, Vietnam, Africa...... can get work permit easily to work at local restaurant or small business (in US or Europe) for $1/day, how would republicans/democrat react to that? If we want to extend that argument then there should be no national borders.

I think they would open a restaurant and hire them (and thats ok). The economy is global, so we have to think in such a way.
