Classmate took his bike to a show at the local Harley dealer, here's his Triumph

An interesting hand-built creation

And some classics

Lot's of great stuff recently:

dngr - your latest series looked great to me: creative, colorful and very interesting.

derelict - cool stuff - thanks for the shot of the Morris Minor; my Dad bought a Minor convertible new in 1958 and later I learned to drive in it.

Ron - super shots of cool vehicles in motion.

Thanks. It was a phenomenal show. A few things there I had no idea existed and a few things I had only seen in photos by other people. When I sat down to edit, I went with less/ low contrast in the photos to make them a little brighter than I normally would.

I love looking at the old cars and thinking that back in their day they were considered high tech. I guess that even the most high tech today is doomed to quaintness sometime down the road.

I had a chance to ride the Harley-Davidson Livewire, a prototype electric motorcycle.

It's pretty well-finished for a prototype, and already generating a lot of both positive and negative reactions. If you've never ridden an electric motorcycle, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. The instant torque is addicting.

Local Hotrod club had their annual show today. Quite a lot of nice cars. None seem to be pure show ponies. They all look to be driven which is great as that is what a car is for. But saying that there were very few that had the elite level of finish that makes for interesting photos.

I took surprisingly few photos. I had my 7yo daughter with me and couldn't spend the time with each car I would've liked.

So do the electric Harley's have the distinctive "potato~potato~potato" sound that HD litigated over against the Asian bike makers?

I went to a car show on vacation and saw some new to me stuff.

Lotus Elan S2 - one of the cars that Mazda had in mind when they designed the Miata. This is obvious even if you didn't know. I didn't expect a Lotus to be huge, but this car looks 5/8ths scale.

Hudson Commodore 8 - my dad had one of these when he was in the Air Force, in the early 50s, black. The outside was (to me) kind of ordinary. My dad says he was driving from Ft. Worth to New York, middle of Kansas somewhere, dead tired, 60 on a two lane road, and the hood started to float up. His immediate assumption was "I've gone blind!"
