I have seen those eyelashes on headlights. Around here they seem to often be associated with lipstick kisses on the rear window.

Speaking of headlights, is anyone familiar with the term spididdle or padiddle, and the game(s) associated with it?

Chris
Yeah, I had an ex from Maine whose family did that.

Went to the Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport RI today. They change out their exhibits about 3-4 times a year. Currently it’s local hot rods from 1945-1965. They had a stock ‘32 Ford next to a hot rodded one. Very interesting. Great museum to visit.

I've never seen someone road race a station wagon...I have seen drag racers race station wagons...used to be thought that more weight on the rear drive wheels and good weight transfer...if you special shocks and some other suspension adjustments.

Wonder what the theory is for a road racer to use a wagon...or maybe it was simply that was what he had...or perhaps it put him in an advantageous class. Hmmnn.

I'm thinking a liking for goons is what drove them to race one.

Volvo successfully campaigned some 850 Estates (Wagons) back in the 90's in the British Touring Car Championship

Then more recently BMR ran a couple of Subaru Levorgs in the same series.

Shots from a local cruise night recently. I've posted these elsewhere already but will add them to this newly-resurrected thread

Of course classic cars in the UK are mightily different to American ones, half the size for the most part to start with! Beautiful photos above, by the way.
What cheeses me off is that I have had a number of cars that are now considered classics but were just cheap old bangers when I was a lad: Ford Anglia, Sunbeam Stiletto, Ford Capri Mk1 Facelift, Mini, MG TF (the modern one not the 1950's one). Wish I'd kept any one of those...Oh well.

More from the Luck Dog meet, a Datsun 610 pickup in the paddock.

I have not seen one of those in a long time.

I do recall a Toyota pickup that I thought about buying back around 1975 or so. It was a single cab (weren't they all then), with a long box...4 cylinder, and my memory says it had a 5 speed manual...don't know if it was an SR 5.

nice pix. That first photo looks like a '65 Chevelle...with 327 badging on the front fender. At that time one of the engines offered in the '65 Chevelle was the 327 cube/ 350 hp engine.

It was a small block V8, but a mighty mouse that was competitive with big block muscle intermediates in acceleration.

Daimler SP250
SP 250 with the Hemi 2.5 liter V8. I believe that some of those cars were used by the British police as highway interceptors...quite quick and fast back then in the '60's.
