Romney Campaign Venn Diagram Gets an "F"

Daily Kos: Romney Campaign Venn Diagram Gets an "F"

What the Romney Campaign came up with...

How it should work...

And now it's a meme...

They would have made there point more effectively if they did something like this:

LOL, Mike, that does make the point clearly; however, it also reminds people of the stock market, and therefore Bain, which of course Romney is now downplaying

Another option to illustrate the Obama's economic results for the unemployed.

Attachment 133658

Most of the people who have fallen out of the unemployment rate under the Obama regime simply gave up looking for work so the number of people working is declining while the number of people looking for work is steady and the number not working and not even looking grows.

The GOP's strategy should be transparent to any halfwit. It's like standing on a guy's neck and then saying "I thought you were going to get on your feet! What a failure YOU are and obviously so is your theory that the right kind of assistance can help someone who's fallen stand up."

If you look at the chart, you can see that unemployment shot up when Obama was elected then it plateaued for the entire "penalty time" when democrats had control of the white house, house of reps, and a super majority in the senate then it finally started to drop once the stimulus program ended and tea party republicans were elected in November 2010. How can anything be blamed on republicans when the dems had a monopoly on power?

Because the economy doesn't steer like a Lotus Esprit, it steers like an ocean liner.

The 'Plateau' is the effect of the stimulus on the recession initiated in the second Bush Term.

...which in turn was set up by the Clinton fiscal policy, itself due to the papa Bush budget compromises... all of which is predicated on the welfare spending of FDR and LBJ, which was all set in motion by that Republican apostate Teddy Roosevelt. Only by going back 113 or more years can we come to a President who truly understood the economy. The sooner we get there the better, though neither candidate will get us there.

Bingo. And an ocean liner steering with someone grabbing the wheel and tugging against every move the captain tries to make.

No shit, eh? It's not like they didn't proudly obstruct *everything* and aren't continuing to run on that basis to this day, or else be challenged in primaries by people who are more extreme about it.... Then they lie and say, 'Obama created this situation he obviously inherited and which we demand to make worse while blocking even things we happen to agree with so we can secure power through blaming people,' (Pssst, somehow no one will hear us saying this, even if we only say it at conservative PAC and Religious Right conferences that are on Youtube before they're even over. Better attack women's rights and try and do the early 80s backwards on who owns whose bodies....)

Do we want a leader whose team fails at making charts and graphs or do we want one with a track record of failing the american people?

I have only recently come to the conclusion that lying is a key part of the GOP strategy. They actually get together and dream up clever things to say that cross the line from political spin to outright lies. I've resisted ever saying that it was true out of fairness, and from my belief in the innate goodness of humankind. But the GOP has been taken over by a dark influence, and slowly all the decent Republican politicians are either giving in to it, or are not running for another term.

The President hasn't failed the American people, the right wingers have sabotaged America, from a stonewalling congress to the Supreme Court, and now lying.

Why has the GOP turned to baldfaced lying to win? What's really going on is that the long-term effects of unregulated capitalism is upon us, and the GOP has become the party of unregulated capitalism. When unregulated, and gains are not distributed fairly, this is what happens:

The unregulated capitalist wants profits for himself and stockholders above all other considerations. If they can cut benefits, if people work at a wage too low to survive, if business pays no taxes, if everyone but the main players languish, no problem, and then they elect people to office who support this.

As the ugly truth becomes evermore apparent, how does the party of unregulated capitalism make their philosophy appealing to enough voters to keep themselves in office? They lie, it's the only avenue they have. A robust central government is bad; a fair distribution of wealth is socialism; the war in Iraq was about WMD (not control over oil and preservation of the dollar as the world's reserve currency); universal health care is death panels, a tax, will hurt America's status as providing the best medical care (); regulating Wall Street and banking and polution is killing business; not paying taxes will make you richer (but don't notice all the services you will not have or will be paying for straight out of your pocket, or your dwindling police and fire protection, gutted schools and decimated teacher corps); make us rich and we will create more jobs and all will have plenty; there is "widespread" voter fraud; global warming is a myth, Obama has failed (and we had nothing to do with it ) . . . you get the picture.

The point is, lying is the only way the GOP has of trying to keep people from noticing what unregulated capitalism does to a nation -- it is in their interest to keep people as dumb as posts and deluded by falsehoods (cutting funds to education is a fantastic strategy for this).

Les, you left out the lotto mentality the Republicans peddle: you too can strike it rich, and when you do, you don't want Uncle Sam's hand in your pocket!

Serious question. How do you know someone has actually stopped looking for work? Is it written down somewhere? Exit polls? I know you can tell how many new claims there are, but I don't know how you can tell someone has actually stopped, unless they say they have.
