2012 Big Bay Boom Firework Show in San Diego lasts only 30 seconds !

QuoteQuote:
The 2012 Big Bay Boom Firework Show in San Diego for 2012 was a "Big Bay Bummer". A technical problem caused ALL of the fireworks to go off within 30 seconds. The original Big Bay Boom was set to last 15-20 minutes.

People have given names for this 4th of July, such as: "The Big Bay Bust", "The Big Bay Bummer", "The 30 second Firework Show", "The 10 second Firework Show", "Firework Fail", "Premature Initiation of the Firework Show"

The Port of San Diego announced that Garden State Fireworks, the company in charge of the show's pyrotechnics, said they would be willing to provide a complimentary show before next year over Glorietta Bay.

The cost of the 2012 Big Bag Boom was an estimated $300,000, that's about $10,000 per second.

Millions of spectators nationwide have enjoyed visually dazzling displays coordinated by the Millington-based Garden State Fireworks for more than a century, often without ever becoming aware of the company’s name.

Ironically, one pricey, high-profile mishap amid thousands of successes is what introduced it to the nation at large last week.

Nearly 20 minutes’ worth of fireworks all mistakenly were launched in a span of about 15 seconds over San Diego Bay on the Fourth of July, disappointing more than half a million spectators, spoiling a nearly $400,000 affair and sending a YouTube video into viral mode in the blink of an eye.

Wow, too bad for all the specatators, even though it sounded like many were thrilled, but I'm sure they thought that was just a wild opening!
