Funny I was thinking the other day about posting a thanks to Uncle Sam for adding to my camera fund... as it is I was saving up extra money I made on overtime to pay for a few things...

Think I'm going with the K200D and the grip for it, and possibly a lens. I really miss having a grip on my camera. I can't justify the extra $$ on the K20D certainly, but the K200D is quite a huge upgrade from my K110D, like travis said.

There are a few lenses on my wish list but reality is that I will probably use it to replace my 40 year old boiler and I still have 3 single pane windows left in the house also. Of course if I can save a couple of hundred gallons of fuel a year then theres a lens or 2......

In reality, that $1600 will go towards paying down a credit card balance, most likely.

In the ideal world, DH and I would split the $1600 and I would take my $800 and put it towards more camera gear, most likely a couple of lenses--the 21/3.2 and the FA100/2.8 macro. It wouldn't be quite enough, but it would cover most of the cost.

Reality stinks sometimes.

Just realized that this check is an advance on the 2008 tax year refund. Looks like I am just going to bank it since it isn't extra money.

Where did you hear that one? AFAIK, that's simply not true. (and I've been really keeping up with events these days)

A stimulus package doesn't mean an advance loan - it's meant to be spent, that's the whole point.
