What are you going to spend your tax rebate on (USA only)?

As it stands today for people earning $75k or less will receive $600 and couples earning under $150k will receive $1,200 and if you have children dependents you will receive an additional $300 for each.

What are you going to do with your money? Buy a new K20D or K200D, lenses, flashes, software, or just bank it and help pay for essentials?

We will buying more diapers, baby formula and a Britax seat. After that a nice handbag for my wife and possibly a flash for me. The remainder will go in the bank to help pay for the utilities and possibly any car repairs needed this summer.

A new deck. A new fence. A new heater/AC. New flooring. New windows.

Take your pic. I need all of them, just haven't decide which one to start with.

I plan on getting the K10D and some glass. I thought long and hard about the K20D, but I figure the K10D is a step up from my K110D and having some nice glass is a better place to put my money right now. Actually, I already ordered the K10D and the 10-17 fisheye lens, can't wait to start playing with them. When the check actually comes I think I will get the 50-135 DA*. Hey, the purpose of the rebate is to get the economy up by spending money, right? Might as well spend it.

Mike,

You're after my own heart... I am thinking the same thing.

However, other things might take precedence...

Cheers,
Marc

What to buy, what to buy....

Would love a DA 10-17mm fisheye, DA 50-200, and FA 35 f/2.0 (if it's still available) and maybe an AF-360FGZ flash unit. I know it's more than my rebate, but I've got a little saved for "accessories"...so we'll see. Should pretty much have me set if I purchase all of this.

Who would have ever thought this little $400 purchase (after rebate) would have snowballed like this!

I'm trying to convince my wife that I need the new 35mm limited macro. It's a very hard sell because I convinced her to let me use some of the Christmas bonus for a DA 70. My plan of attack: The government wants you to spend this money...that's what the recovery bill is all about!

I really want the K20D but in reality I'll probably be looking at some Alien Bees as well.

Already budgeted money for the K20D. May help buy the new DA300 f4. Just wish they had a longer lens.
thanks

I don't have to worry about where our rebate will be spent -- my wife and I don't qualify. However, the good thing is, both of my boys do and the older son has a child, so he is looking at receiving $1500. They can surely use it.

I think I'm going to put it all into savings, just to spite the politicians.

I'm thinking about the 35mm macro limited. Or maybe the 10-17mm fisheye. Good thing I have a few months to make up my mind.

Paying of debt with mine ...
Travelled a lot this year and charged to much of my fun...
I would really love a step up from my K100, but probably not this year. (I have had my K100 cleaned 3 times by three different pro companies, and it still has a couple of spots on the sensor...don't know how they got there, but I am getting really tired of retouching every landscape photo I take...
