Sitting right here beside me as I type, waiting on the Chinese food to arrive, there are a couple of young ladies who are 8 1/2 and 11 respectively, my nieces, who have just joined us as Pentax users. They're not allowed to join web boards with adults on their own yet but I'm teaching them to use film and their first Pentax this afternoon and I will be showing them posts on here sometimes. I gave them one of my P3's. They do have to share it for now but I may give them another one if they can master using this one okay. (They are waving HELLO!)

Tell them "Welcome!" and a wave back "Hello!" also. Let us know how the experiences go. I have an 11-year old that I would like to introduce to photography. I have an old ME that still works fine, maybe she could learn some manual and film things, and I've thought of giving my k100dS to her when I upgrade (which is hopefully sooner than later).

Well I'm definitely a young'un by the looks of it here. Only 20 and half years old! But seriously though, I love how PF is so much more than just a 'my gear is better than yours' forum. Pentaxians appreciate the older stuff--cameras, lenses, and of course people =D

So one of the guys at work asked once - Shall we just call you Geezer or Gummer?

Someone else said - Not fair, he's not a day over 40! I responded by saying - Just call me well preserved....

I'm surprised to be so close to the center of the distribution here.

FWIW I am one of the youngsters on my buggy whip and washboard forums...

73 and looking and forward to my 2nd childhood, just as soon as I finish with this one. Started shooting Pentax in '69 with the purchase of my Spotmatic in Sasebo Japan for about $120.00 worth of Yen. Still enjoying the journey...........Cliff

I am wondering because everybody on this forum SEEMS VERY MATURE.
You obviously haven't spent any time in the Politics & Religion forum.

BTW, I turned 69 on 30 May, and I don't look a day over 68.

I just turned 16 a few days ago. Or was that 61? I'm easily confused these days, but don't let the bald head and gray beard fool ya. This harsh Minnesota climate takes a toll on exterior beauty. That said, I'm old enough to remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing. See how mature I am?

Lol I try to avoid that section at all costs, I however do have 1 or 2 posts there I believe.

Sorry I forgot all about adding a 16 age, I would've definitely put it as 16-16 (16), since I don't really categorize that under 16 or 17+. 16 is a awesome age to be.

No kidding! I remember how great it was to drive, and date! Too bad that 16 does not last very long; I and many of my friends were trying to grow up fast, and seriously preparing for the great "next" - I wish we would have stood back and admired the time a little more. But it is what it was and we didn't seem to be too much different than all the other 16-year-olds at the time. Thanks for the great comment about 16! Glenn

Just turned 48 years young. Still playing football, climbing cliffs and going to music festivals. I'll let you know when I grow up.
