Republicans economic model

Thia thought cam to me last night regarding historical models of the Republican dream world..

Seems to me, though some are saying they want to take us back to the 1800's or so, that is a WAY to conservative date..

More like medieval times..

Think of the Fed as the King.. only job he has is to collect a minor "tithe" from the nobility or baron class spread out through the whole kingdom..
The king is the provider of the regional army for protection of the realm.

The nobility or baron class is composed of "job creators" who trickle down to their largess on the serf and peasants who produce for them.
Collecting a "profit" from their labors to pay the king and enrich themselves..
They have the regional control of the lands and resources they own w/ little intervention of a hands off king.

Model didn't work well then or now.........

Hmmm, I'm enjoying reading Gore Vidal's Burr - what a fun book!

A quote therefrom on the history of the Republican party (Burr speaking):

"Van Buren will be nominated and he will defeat Clay or any other National Republican -- no, no, Whig, I must get used to calling them that. How topsy-turvy it is! Those of us who were for the Revolution were Whigs. Those for Britain were Tories. Then there was the fight over the federal Constitution. In our state Governor Clinton wanted a weak federal government. So some of the Whigs became anti-Federalist, and some like Hamilton became Federalist. Then Tory-Federalists became Republican. Now Tory-Federalist-Republicans call themselves Whig though they are anti-Whig while the anti-Federalist Republicans are now Jacksonian Democrats. Oh, names are magic here!"
