Why?
A farmer went to his banker to borrow money and the banker said "last year we loaned you $40,000.00 and there was a drought so the money was lost."
The farmer said "It coulda been worse".
The banker reminded him that the year before they had loaned him over $30,000.00 and a hail storm wiped out the crop.
The farmer said "It coulda been worse".
The banker mentioned a few other times over the years that large sums of money had been lost, and each time the farmer said "It coulda been worse".
The banker said "you must be the most optimistic, positive person in the world. All the times you've lost money and all you can say is "it coulda been worse."
The farmer looked the banker in they eye and said "Well, it could have been worse. It could have been my money I lost and not the bank's".
That's why.
