World not prepared for Romney

Around the world, perceptions of Obama-Romney contest lag reality - The Washington Post
QuoteQuote:
In Western Europe, few people can imagine Romney in office. In China, officials have been focused on the intrigues of their impending leadership transition, though many worry that both American candidates have been beating up on their country instead of pummeling each other. And in the Middle East, political chaos has kept many activists and officials from contemplating the election much at all.

In Europe, leaders have good reason to avoid the issue: From the Scottish Highlands to the heel of Italy, it’s Obama country all the way. One survey last month from the German Marshall Fund found Europeans breaking 75 percent for Obama and 8 percent for Romney. Even conservative leaders have maneuvered themselves to appear closer to the U.S. president, reasoning that they can get their own electoral bump from doing so, although popular enthusiasm for Obama has diminished after a public frenzy in 2008.

Three years into an economic crisis in the euro zone that has threatened to spill into the United States, many European leaders have built alliances with the Obama administration that they worry would reset to zero under Romney, analysts say. The Republican challenger has pointed to Europeans as symbols of the big-government socialist state that he says Obama wants to build.

I guess Romney's home state and home country approach of owning a home in every US State and every EU country to ensure broad support of "one of their own" hasn't worked out as well as he planned

Do we get to choose who the german chancellor is? Who cares what they think.

So you haven't noticed it's a global economy, or global warming that needs to be addressed, or that we are trying to bring the rest of the world in on maintaining global peace and security?

Case in point..............

Donald Trump lawyers tried to stop BBC showing Scottish bullying film | World news | guardian.co.uk

QuoteQuote:
"During the making of the film, Donald Trump declined the opportunity to take part. We are confident that Donald Trump was offered sufficient right to reply in accordance with BBC editorial guidelines. Donald Trump chose not to participate but the film-maker took care to reflect his views on a number of different occasions in the film.
"In addition, Donald Trump was offered the chance to be interviewed live on the BBC following the BBC2 broadcast. He has not taken up our invitation."
Trump has refused to see the film but on Twitter last week he described his critics as "morons". He asserted that Baxter had "zero talent" and was a "stupid fool" whose film had helped publicise and promote his golf course at Menie, north of Aberdeen.
Baxter said he repeatedly asked Trump for an interview while he was making the documentary but none of the offers were taken up.
Trump upset w/ "those people".................

Yeah, it could even result in something like, say, those in power manipulating congress, citizens, and our allies into invading a country to look for WMDs that aren't even there (I know, I know . . . that is a really far-fetched example).
