"Ostrich pillow" -- cool or creepy?

I debated wasting space on this, but am curious to know whether I'm just way out of touch or whether others think this is bizarre. I can't believe it got all that funding & interest.

OSTRICH PILLOW by kawamura-ganjavian — Kickstarter

My vote is 100% creepy.
Wear it in the office? To me, this screams "I can neither see nor hear you, so play a prank on me." I'm sorry, but I'd be the colleague who crept in while you were wearing this thing to toilet-paper your office, rearrange your cubicle, turn everything upside-down on your desk, or something. Or put a sign in your lap if you're sitting like the guy in #3, that says "I'm a doofus."
(And I am NOT normally someone who does that sort of thing!)
Wear it at the airport? On a train??? "I can't see or hear you -- come rob me."
Do they seriously advise female commuters in particular to use this thing in public? "By the time I got the pillow off my head, the guy who'd grabbed me inappropriately was long gone..."
Talk about setting yourself up by not being alert.
If you want to lock your office door or use it at home, then ok, whatever. But it's still weird.

I think its brilliant. It appears to be perfectly designed for those who need to get some peace and darkness in less than perfect environs.

I wouldn't feel safe using that in a public place. Anyone could creep up on you. Or take photos and post them online

Looks great for -20 degree weather. Otherwise, I'd pass.

It does look weird but I can see the value in a product like that. I think they should tweak the design a little and market it to backpackers and especially the winter camping crowd.

It's creepy but I'd buy one and use it in public no problemo.

I could have used one of these this morning when the construction crew across the street began pile driving at 07:15.

I believe there's a full-body version of this. It's called the 'sleeping bag'.

To me it looks like a mugging waiting to happen. Headphones and a hat. That way you can still see the idiots that would be making fun of you, or stabbing you. It is the halloween season, after all.

lol imagine if they added a window on the downward side so you could just put your head up and look around
Of course you would have to keep your hands by your head

Using that in public would be like the class nerd putting a "kick me" sign on his own back.

For some reason this thing reminds me of this episode of "The Office" I saw this week.
